Hi all,

I'm new and I just got OFF and I have some questions.

1) How do I turn off the hitting enemy aircraft/getting hit by enemy aircraft messages?

2) I ran the "CFS3.EXE" file and there was a campaign, QF, and historical missions.
What is the difference from these and from the same option running from "OFFManager.exe"?
One thing I noticed is the AI is much easier than the AI when running "OFFManager.exe"".

3) I noticed in the workshop that Hi Res skins do not display damage. Does this include wings blown off or just bullet holes? If OFF does well is there a possibility that someday Hi Res skins will display damage?

Thanks.

I'll take a stab at answering.

1. Run CSF3config (I believe now accessible from the workshop page) and turn off the messages in the overides page.

2. OFF runs from the OFF manager only. Do not try running the CSF3.exe directly...it doesn't work that way. The campaign, QF etc you see is the factory CSF3 stuff (i.e WW2)...very different and totally not used by OFF.

3. I believe it was posted earlier that structural damage will show, just not bullet holes.

Hmm, Do we have the same version (OFF v3 1.1)?

What you are saying and what I'm seeing is very diffrent.

Hello

2) Do not run CFS3 exe - only run via the desktop icon i.e via the manager - yes manager AI is tougher its meant to be that way.

3) We hope so yes.

Hi Winder,

I'm used to quick combat being a tool to jump in quickly to test and train in the various aircraft. Unfortunately in manager the results of quick combat effect the pilot (IE: Dead in QC = dead pilot) and makes it a pain to test and train because I die a lot =).

I've been using CFS3 exe quick combat because I don't need to create a pilot and the results are not permanent.

Will using CFS3.exe QC mess things up?

Also where can I find the option to turn off the hitting enemy aircraft/getting hit by enemy aircraft messages?

Thanks.

I am sure others here can help u in the CFS3config - you can disable all of them in CFS3config - a button in workshops. This is a standard CFS3 tool but it is accessible now from the workshops page

In workshops you can also select pilot never dies - take the time to check out all the options that are available in the workshops especially the difficulty column on the right and you will find that you can tailor the sim to suit your expertise as you go.

Workshops is accessible from the main menu lower right.

Hi Winder,

I actually did take a look through workshop - it just never dawned on me to make my pilot invincible =).

As for CFS3config in workshop all this brings up are resolution and different graphics settings but no settings for combat messages.

77Scout mentioned an "overrides page" which I don't have.

You do you have to go to File menu again, Custom, then go back up and choose Window, Overrides. Not a great menu from MS but it's there..

Ah! Ok I get it now.

Some pretty cool options there - has anyone played around with the texture options?

Just proceed with caution you are in Microsoft territory and you can break your CFS3...

"Player Gunnery Spread" under workshop: Which is the most realistic - normal or wide?

Np MalBTW don't run cfs3.exe directly, yes it may work for a while, the new scenery etc is there of course and may seem ok, but things will likely break as the OFF Manager handles the setup of terrain according to dates, missions, craft and squad allocation, skins, AI, etc etc oh and etc :) .....!

normal is default, and is what we recommend, and the DM has been tested to work best with for balance, but if you want to make it easier or harder you can play with spread or strength etc.
