"Quick" Update

Now that is one wild design, I like it! Looking good Rob!! :medals::medals:

I have pretty much finished the canopy frame, and now I have a panel that needs some gauges...:d
I also got the elevators cut in. I have managed to figure out many of the cockpit details...the elevator linkage is gonna be cool when I manage to get it working :icon_lol:

A fellow who lived two streets over had one of those...it was faaaaast!...:jump:

Cool beans man, looks great.

I know I asked this before, but do not remember the answer. Is that a Rutan creation?

Good going Robert

Hey Marlin, yes, it was a Rutan creation ;)
I have the control system roughed in now. I think the animation will be easier than I originally thought...I'll know that later this weekend :icon_lol:
Oh, and don't worry about the control stick, it will look a lot better soon :d

It was a fairly early Rutan, wasn't it? I remember swotting up on it for the Long-EZ review, but my brain sort of lost bits in the flow of time. :bump:

Anyway, looks very interesting. I'll be watching this one develop, I think!

That design is different, to say the least. Can't wait to see it mature. I've nothing in my hangar that compares to it.:applause::medals:

They were right around the same time, Ian. Long first flew in '79 and the Quickie was a little earlier in '77. Varieze started it in '75. This one had only a 22 HP Onan engine and they later made it bigger and put an O-200 Continental in it. I looked at the Q-200 when I was planning my Long EZ build as their shop was right next to Burt's in Mojave.

cheers,
steve :wavey:
