Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,

~~~SCRATCH, SLAP SLAP POP ****
Git ur Bum *** out of bed. You've got a race to run...
Well that's how my late afternoon started one minute your dreaming pleasantly of Edgar Allen Poe verses and the next its off to the wild blue yonder.
Since RL has kept me far to busy to get into the groove early on all of the really cool planes have already be used up so somebody decided to grab up a PBM Mariner. It is of course a very logical choice as it has obvious advantages over all other aircraft in its class.
Still she's rather beat up and the paint is faded but seems to up for the trip. We have made one of two modifications and added a drift meter and a dual ADF.
The first leg will be RPMT - RPMD
Launch is emanate disseminate effeminate... Ah heck with it sometime in the very near future without further delay but maybe right after a nap...
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost....
... Lenore -
Here we are on the way to RPMD
Well here we are safely at RPMD
and attached is the Proof so to speak
Tomorrow we shall continue and I regret that I will not try a landing on the carrier. I do have it installed so I may just open the bomb bay doors and drop a little something on them. :icon_lol:
Emergency coffee resupply drop? Cool! Welcome to the South Pacific Shindig, Dave. Good choice of plane too!
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Nameless here for evermore.
After another delay we start off from where we left off.
Two of the crew have been left behind for no particular reason and 100 lbs of Starbucks best coffee has been loaded into the Bombay's
We shall be leaving shortly for WABB
Well crap I had the VASI lights in sight and when to adjust the eye point to the left and accidentally pressed the key combination that reloads the aircraft. So being in a irritated mood I just shut everything off and said forget it.
Dave;
That's cause you didn't write the next stanza...
And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
Thrilled me - filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating
`'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door -
Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door; -
This it is, and nothing more,'
Buck-up, Dave.. I cannot tell you how many flights I've started, and flown for a half hour or so, only to find out I forgot to either "open" the Duenna or "Arm" the Duenna!!
Charles.
bad luck Dave, sorry to hear it.
very aggravating, indeed.
personally, i am gradually changing out
the keyboard assignments of nasty activities
that can screw up a fight.
if i don't remove them or want to keep them,
i'll change them to Ctrl+Shift+whatever.
that way, i've got to try real hard
to screw up a flight.
No that was caused by metal confusion and the fact I have not been doing very much flying at all. The two key commands are not even that close.
Sat was the only time I had to do that long flight. The next time I may get to try it will not be until the 28th or 29th.
Dave, my old comp doesn't like to run FS for much over 2 hours at a time, so I've diverted around to some islands to the southwest to split up the RPMD to WABB leg. Takes a little longer, but less stressfull on the comp that way.
Breaking up this long run the second time was nice.
That first time, straight four hours was a killer. In bad weather. My longest without a map.
I disabled the time compression, slew, and engine keys.
