Radio chatter

Hi all,

Are there any radio chatter mods about? I have a pack that Gecko put together which works really well but can't be released unfortunately (it 'borrows' from non-cfs3 sources).

I flew a few missions using it last night and it increases the immersion a great deal.

Pat :)

Hi Pat,

I've been around sinds 2006 and read a lot of old threads earlier this year. Personally I haven't seen an alternative.

Can you be more specific about what is " borrowed" ? If it's wav-files only, we can make new ones and release it after that. If it "borrowes" code, we need some-one who can build us a cfs3-variant (Look-alike).

there was a release don't remmember exact name but it was something like ."bomber radio chatter" it was uploaded here around a year ago.

Mmm... not sure about that bomber chat, sounds more like an old radio play. Still interesting though.

It's just the wav files that are borrowed. Some are definately from cfs1 and I'm pretty sure BoB2 plus others as well. The rest of it is ok.

If between us we could make new ones then that's another matter!
However, thinking about it, the cfs1 are freely available to download and remain unsupported. - would probably be ok to use these anyway.

I'll take out all but the cfs1 chat and see how that goes. If anyone fancies making some other stuff to add variety please do! I may have a go when the wife and kids are out :icon_lol:

Has anyone ever figured out if it is possible to get your wing men to respond in the same language your using when its an axis nation?

Well, at least italian you can copy over from MAW "sounds"-folder. Just copy the corespondig "air_ita.gvp", "ground_ita.gvp", "pilot_ita.gvp" and "wingmen_ita.gvp" over to your CFS3 or ETO install.

If you want them to respond in english, just copy the british files (xxx_bri.gvp), rename them as "xxx_ger.gvp", and copy them back in your sounds folder, overwriting the exixting ones. (maybe not a to bad idea to back them up first.)

:italy:

Hi Pat, Charlie did a lot of radio chatter and sound effects in his packages DIAB and his later one. I don't think I ever got it working properly but it would be worth a look to see how its done.

But would that not take away from the "immersion" experience?
I'd kinda like to see ol (Mr.NEK) work the other languages into the
game,(Japanese,Italian,French, etc.) :jump:

I've been doing some testing and there are problems to overcome still eg flying as a jerry you can still here RAF chat etc. This is probably fixable I would have thought.

I haven't heard from Daniel (Gecko) in a while, if anyone else would like to test these drop me a pm, I'm sure he won't mind.

ages ago Stan (Flyby) gave me a set of CFS2 chatter for me to use in video's.

I thought about cfs2 chat Jeff, not sure we'd get away with using that though as it's taken direct from the sim. At least the cfs1 stuff is available to anyone.

I like the old chatter from Mig Alley. Nothing is more satisfying then, "Pound him lead, pound him!"
