I need help in finding out what type of aircraft the above mentioned airforces used in the asian theatre during world war two? I have very little knowledge concerning the burma or indochina air war.:wavey:

In 1942 before Burma fell to the Japanese the British flew Buffalos,Hurricanes and Blenheims and fought side by side with the AVG.

The RAF (and Fleet Air Arm) used, at various times, The F2A Buffalo; Hawker Hurricane (Mk.II and Mk.IV); Bristol's Blenheim, Beaufort and Beaufighter; De Havilland's Domine and Mosquito; Fairey's Swordfish, Fulmar, Barracuda and Firefly; Grumman's TBM Avenger and Hellcat; Republic P-47D Thunderbolt; Supermarine's Spitfire (Mk's.V and VIII) and Seafire Mk.III; Vickers Vildebeest and Wellington; Vought F4U-1A and 1D Corsair.

The RAAF used the F2A Buffalo; Bristol's Beaufort and Beaufighter; CAC's Boomerang and Wirraway; Consolidated's B-24 Liberator and Catalina; Curtiss's P-40E, K, M and N models; De Havilland Mosquito; Douglas's DB-7B and the A-20G; Lockheed 's Hudson and Ventura; North American's B-25D and J models; Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V and VIII; Vultee Veangence.

The RAF also used the Vengeance, Sunderland, Catalina, Liberator, Lockheed 12, Expeditor, Dakota, Halifax. One Mustang was sent to the Far East for evaluation. FAA had Wildcats too.

Don't forget the handful of Albacores used by the RAF .... Three from 36 Squadron took part (alongside Vildebeests of 36 and 100 Squadrons) in the disastrous Endau raids of January 26, 1942.
