RAF Brooklands

Pat Pattle

SOH-CM-2024
Another BoB era airfield model on its way, RAF Brooklands. Home of motor racing before the war and also with both Vickers and Hawkers having works there. The two rectangular dark patches are the sewage works - do not prang your aircraft here! :icon_lol:

I haven't modelled the banking as it can be used for racing if anyone cared to - Phillip Ms MG's would be ideal :). but it'll have an entry in the facility and objects file to give the player a circuit start if required.

Brilliant work, Clive! Brooklands has always been one of my favourites, ever since CFS1. Someone did a railway train add-on which was supposed to populate the local scenery, not that I ever really noticed it.

Anybody know when the sewage farm disappeared? It can't have been a frightfully pleasant fixture to have on an airfield! I noticed it's not there now, anyway.

There must be a museum or something there now - couple of Hunters, a VC10, a Harrier and one or two other things parked here and there.

Da-da-da-dum!

This week's mystery - The Case of the Disappearing Sewage Farm!

Can Dixon find the culprit before he disposes of it on the black market? Has it been taken by a foreign power? Are British sewage treatment secrets in danger? All this and more in this week's episode of Dixon of Dock Green.

great, now if i can find some 1939 to 1940's racing cars to model, this would allow cfs3 racing!!

Another one for the racing fans, Glorious Goodwood! Or RAF Westhampnett.. which ever you prefer... Mr Pattle has patiently and expertly guided me through the ins and outs of airfield construction and here are the fruits of my first attempt. It is still very much a work in progress (Im waiting for the trees to grow and the squadrons to move in) but should hopefully be finished soon. Ive adjusted the global layer position so it fits accurately (or there abouts) into the West Sussex countryside. :jump:

Excellent Chris! A very welcome addition. :ernae:

Do you fancy doing a 1940 version too please? Basilcally just a grass field with tents and a couple of wooden huts, I have some (scant) details if you need them. :)

Would love to have a go! I wasnt sure exactly what the Westhampnett of 1940 would of looked like. Was the perimeter track there then? If you could send me any details it would be much appreciated! :icon_lol:

Ive had to use a little artistic licence but this looks slightly more 1940'ish... Need a little help on creating the mos files cant seem to figure it out. Cheers

Great! :) According to what I have there was no peri-track in 1940 Chris, I'll try and get something over to you later.
