RAF Ibsley Next

After some success with RAF Winkleigh and a suggestion from Cees, I'm starting on RAF Ibsley. Located in Hampshire just north of Ringwood. No trace of it is left on the Google Earth image I checked but I was able to find an old aerial photo and some other references so here is a quick WIP shot: I have to adjust the ground poly slightly, but otherwise it's fine.
 
Good to see another mud-mover, visited there a few years ago, no sign of the airfield but theres a gravel qrarry and nature reserve there now, its actually a very attractive place but no sign of its war time use, took this pic from a memorial on what was the eastern taxiway.

Yep, the Ibsley Historical Group has a website with photo's and the plaque you show here is part of that Gallery of photos. I'm using that and an old aerial image to get this laid out. Should start placing objects here sometime today or this evening.

Drive past it all the time on the way to rugby, nice to be able to see a hint of its former glory.

There are a few traces left of the old airfield....

There's the Control Tower
Moyle's Court School was (I think) the officers mess...

I've got some info somewhere, i'll see if I can find it.

Getting closer now. All the main hangars, revetments, shelters and the control tower are in place. I still have a few fuel areas to complete, some peripheral buildings to place and trees to plant.
