SOH-CM-2025
RAF in Singapore by Ian Elliot 1/5/13 for FS9

Collection of three RAF Stations on Singapore island during the late 1960's---
RAF Changi WSSS
RAF Seletar WSSL
RAF Tengah WSAT
RAAF Butterworth, Malaysia is also included
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will need these objects-----

"classic_libraries_v2.zip" by Wolfgang Gersch, sorry about the large download size
for these but there's a lot of really good objects i like using.

"type81_tribal_class_frigates_fs9.zip" by Mike Hudson, available from Flightsim

"rn_escort_vessels.zip" by Mike Hudson, available from Flightsim

Although optional, i would seriously recommend you download and install the retro 1961
Paya Lebar airport scenery by Wolfgang Gersch, its really good looking scenery from the
same era and also excludes the modern international airport which made building Changi
a lot easy'er, if you do install this scenery, make sure its lower down the list in
your scenery library than my scenery for the excludes to work properly.

"wsap1961.zip" by Wolfgang Gersch, available at flightsim

I use the Calclassic retro ai aircraft and scenery in my FS9 install, and there's an RAF
Transport command Comet 4 and Twin Pioneer that flys from both Changi and Seletar, you dont need this
add-on but i'd seriously recomend it,not just for this scenery but the whole world.
Visit here for more info on a retro world----

www.calclassic.com

There is a flying boat start available from the dock-side at Seletar
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RAF Tengah comes with a traffic file but you'll need these military ai aircraft installed

"jy_ai_lightning_pack1_fs9_1.zip" by John Young, available from Flightsim

"jy_canberras_ai_fs9_1.zip" by John Young, available from Flightsim

"raf13sqpr9.zip" repaint for above Canberra, by Dale Ashcroft, available from Flightsim

"jy_ai_buccaneers_fs9_1.zip" by John Young, available from Flightsim
add RNS1 to atc_parking_codes=

For RAAF Butterworth, you'll need----

"mpai_mirage_iii_raaf.zip" by Mike Pearson, available from Avsim

I also use a Vulcan from John Youngs retro Waddington and Vulcan ai scenery package, found
at Flightsim, find "Vulcan B2 Blue Steel XM650 camo AI" in the Vulcan cfg and add 650 to the
atc_parking_codes, it should look like this---"atc_parking_codes=650"

Enjoy, ian

Ian, you are Da Man!! I'd been trying to back date some Tengah scenery, and to get info on Seletar, with a view to having a crack at it myself - and yet again, you've saved me the effort & produced something a zillion times better than I ever could!! Thank you. :salute:

Now, if any enthusiastic helicopter modeller is looking for an 'interesting' project, Ian's Seletar could really use a Bristol Belvedere to break down in the middle of the runway. ;-)

Nice!

I remember the thread several months ago asking about airfields in and around Singapore. This will be a great addition to the Orient and the Calclassic set of Asian retro-airfields and AI.

Thanks Ian!

Hi Ian,

The scenery looks awesome! Thank you very much! It will fit perfectly with the CalClassic scenery! Lovelyjobbly!:applause::applause:

Cheers,
Maarten:guinness:

Do you by chance have AI traffic files for the RAAF Mirage III at Butterworth?

Hi Frank, look for "Traffic_WMKB.bgl" in the RAF Singapore/scenery folder, its a rather basic traffic plan im afraid, just one Mirage doing TNG's for a couple of hours in the morning and afternoon.
cheers ian

A good tip from a forum member over at calclassic's, if Mirages are'nt your thing and you want to go back in time a few years, open the Butterworth Traffic_WMKB.bgl and replace with Mike Stones FS2004 Commonwealth CA-27 Sabre, available from Flightsim----

I have top men working on it right now... sorry I've been away from the threads for a while guys ive moved into a place with no internet but a friend of mine who's into modelling is going to take a crack at it when he gets a chance

Maybe some RNZAF Bristol Freighters.......or Hastings.

Funny you should say that, but i did plan to include some Freighters in the scenery, the Mike stone model converts very well using SAMM and there are some good RNZAF and RAAF skins to use, but i dont like using SAMM converted models without permission from the designer first, not sure if they work as ai, didnt check, but you'r right, an important addition to the ramps at Butterworth and Tengah.

Unfortunately, the trees have proliferated :dizzy:
What is the reason for this phenomenon?

Possibly the autogen setting is too high. Should be dense or less. Ditto for Scenery Objects.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Maarten

Just had a check myself, works fine even with full Autogen, looks like your missing the groundpolys and exclude's, try downloading the scenery again and reinstalling.
cheers ian
