Rami's new auto install missions

highpockets

SOH-CM-2025
Rami,

My jzip is not opening any of the new files. Says corrupted or windows cannot open. Should I download again?

Anyone else having the issue? I got the RAAF and Papua New Guinea to open up but not the DEI or the Meggesto.

Hey Jim,

I used WinRaR to zip them, and just to be safe, I downloaded every single auto-installer this afternoon from SOH that I uploaded (20th, Fall Weiss, et al) and checked each installer. Then open perfectly to my desktop with no errors.

Hmmmm....not sure about this one. :banghead:

Don't worry. It probably a system problem with me. I frankly have not had time to mess with it and won't until sometime early next week. I have never had this before.

I may have a corrupted download for some reason. I will try again and keep you posted on my findings.

Thanks for your prompt response. :encouragement:

The usual dumb question....

Rami,

may I ask you, do these packages contain updates and/or improvements compared to the last ones you uploaded, or the update concerns only the auto-installing feature and everything inside is the same as your latest version?

Since I have all of your works since day one, I wonder which ones are hopelessly obsolete and I should definitely dump.....

Cheers!

Hey Stef,

Not a dumb question, not at all. :biggrin-new:

For Mezzagosto and Pedestal, largely, no. I DID make some minor ship changes, (Usio's Eagle, Lance, and Lively in place of the old ships, along with UncleTgt's VN Illustrious overhaul) but the fundamental structure of the missions did not change. You could mod those on your own. (You just won't have the city of Cagliari on Sardinia)

HOWEVER....there was a major issue with mission eleven on the Pedestal side. I made a major editing error in the original pack and deleted one of the unit types, making the mission useless. I spotted the error and fixed it.

The same is true for Malta Spitfire. In both cases, the main effort there was to get the scenery installed without having the problems that everyone is familiar with.

Royal Australian Air Force and the PNG campaign are in the same boat, although there are sound packs and the like you may not have. (Like the Blondi Betty soundpack, and BloodHawk_23's mod of Lawdog's Aichi Val soundpack)

The Dutch East Indies is a complete overhaul with a lot of new scenery incorporated from Onnogras' work.

Fall Weiss is another overhaul with Achim's newest Polish airfields.

20th Fighter Group and the Tirpitz missions, along with the Port Darwin pack, are nubies, so we can skip those.

Thank you Andrew for your extensive explanation!

I already have all of the above. Ever since I could put my paws on a wide-band connection I greedily downloaded all I could.

Cheers!
