RAZBAM A-6 Intruder

I have written to RAZBAM to find out if this will work in P3D V4.5 and have not gotten an answer. I know it will be able to be converted from an FSX model to Prepar3D V4.5 with Arno's fantastic Model Converter X if it has an exterior model AND an interior model so that it does not lose the virtual cockpit after it is converted. Does anyone here have it and can tell me if both mdl's are in the model folder?

There are 9 A-6 versions, all with interior MDL's only in the model folder.
In the model folders are A6 Interior.MDL, A6.MDL & Model.cfg.
Textures are .dds

Thank you for the quick reply. I'm going over and put it in my cart before it disappears like a lot of stuff is doing lately with MSFS and especially their 2024 coming out. A lot of stuff for Navy and Military is being shifted over to DCS too. I downloaded and looked at it but I don't want to start a new sim all over again. I like Prepar3D V4.5 because of being able to still convert FSX stuff to be used for the most part.

I agree, I had both v4.5 & v5.
I dumped v5 for the same reasons, & also the v5 colors were a bit too bright, compared to v4.5.
(I'm also running FS2004!)

I don't fly FS9 anymore but I still have my FSX Acceleration installed so that I can test aircraft, repaints and scenery. You don't have the A-6 Manual that you could share do you? I sent hschuit a PM from an older post he said he would share it with someone else who couldn't find it at RAZBAM with all the links dead but haven't heard back so just in case because it was not a new thread.

I ran both payware Intruders in v5.3 while messing with MCX to add limited bomb dropping via Tacpack. Never actually converted them yet. Same with a few other USN Raz models to include the A-7 and T-2.

Asking everyone who has the RAZBAM if they would share a copy of the A6 Pilot's Manual which has vanished from their site. NOT the NATOPS I have that downloaded but RAZBZM's manual. Really appreciate a download link of a copy.

Phil at Virtavia sent me a nice email reply that his A-6 Intruder in FSX has both the exterior and interior mdl files which means that it is able to be converted to Prepar3D V4.5 without losing animation or the VC if it doesn't work "right out of the box" in P3D without being converted to Prepar3D mdl. Of course for your own personal use only not to share since it IS payware.

It says FS2004 FSX only, will the gauges work in P3Dv4? The VC from Virtavia looks good.

As soon as I am able to put it into my flightsim budget I am going to get it. I was able to download the manual for the Virtavia A-6 from the FSX-SE website and will do an in-depth in this thread of the Virtavia A-6 performance in Prepar3D V4.5, probably in a couple of weeks or so I will order it. And a big thank you to Robin zswobbie1 for the RAZBAM A-6 Pilot guide above. I am going to check it out again. Obviously it works fine in FSX which it was designed for. It seemed a little "quirky" in the VC last night which is why I hunted down the manual to see if it was something I was doing. Again I'll post an unbiased report of it in P3D. To both designers: RAZBAM and Virtavia, I KNOW these were made for FSX and 32 bit technology as well as a few years ago, the RAZBAM works fine in my FSX.

Just got through reading through the RAZBAM A-6 Pilot's Manual. There are two links at the end: Instrument Flying and Formation Flying both of which unfortunately are dead links. Too old I guess. Also, Phineas "Unicorn" Henshaw who wrote the manual and is RAZBAM Flight Model Designer made a comment about getting the A-6 Natops Manual off the web. There are now free links for the A-6E NATOPS 1973 if you Google it. I told Phil at Virtavia my training schedule for the next month which is T-6A Texan II (IRIS) at NAS Whiting Field; T-45 Goshawk (Dino's now free) for FCLP and CARQUALS and graduating (I hope) to the A-6 Intruder whichever I choose to buy/fly off the SDB Enterprise in CCP and FSX@War SE Asia multiplayer.

Tested back to back in v5.3, so those in v4 shouldn't have any issues. Good to see the differences developers took in the same subject aircraft. On the Raz model I thought there was some gauge functionality on the BN's side regarding the radar scope I might be missing. I may run through MCX just for fun.

I substituted the free ARN-75 Raytheon radar for that dummy orange screen in both the vc and the 2D panels and it works great in the RAZ. I also added the RFN TACAN into both panels.

As far as I can see, the Virtavia FSX Steam A-6 works fine in P3D4.5; I need to review how it flies vs real life when I get a chance, I flew A-6s for several years.
