I seem to have this problem with Roy Chaffins B-25 I installed it and theres no folder for it in my aircraft files. I tryed reinstalling it (This time run as administrator) and tryed uninstalling it and that hasnt worked either. Can anybody help me please.

Ahhhhggg. sounds like one of those windows 7 issues I keep hearing about (I'm still on xp and loving it).

Have you tried running the install to a temp folder, then placing the contents manually into your fs folder?

Does it show up on your Select Aircraft menu?

If it does, it might have an aircraft folder with an unrecognizable name. In that case, open your aircraft folder and View Details. Sort by Date Modified and that folder will show up at the top of the list. Then you can rename it with a name you'll recognize in the future.

If it doesn't show on your Select Aircraft menu, then you must be using an auto installer and letting it run in fully automatic mode. This is just one example of what can happen when you use those things that way. Try Nigel's suggestion, and let this be a lesson to you!

If it bugs you that there's an extra, unused copy of the aircraft cluttering up your hard drive, you can use Windows' Search feature to find some file with a name unique to that plane, such as the AIR file. Then select Open Containing Folder and delete the extra copy. Since you must have gotten a correct installation in order to find such a file name, your Search will turn up two copies of that file. One, of course, will be right where it belongs, in an aircraft folder within the main Aircraft folder. Make sure you delete the folder that contains the other one!

In your FS Aircraft folder look for .... B-25J RAF MkII

That's how it's named.

A beautiful aircraft.

Pete.

All excellent suggestions and instructions. I quit using the AutoInstaller a long time ago, and instead unzip the files to an empty folder on my F: drive called "New Aircraft Folder." Everything gets unzipped to that folder and I manually place all effects, gauges, and of course the master aircraft file from that location. Another hint - next time you're in your sim, in your "Select Aircraft" screen go to "Unspecified" in your aircraft list and you may find some surprises. Note what's in there, then back out, open your "Aircraft" folder and go to the specific aircraft folder within. Open the aircraft .cfg file, and see what's shown under "ui_manufacturer=." If they're appearing under "Unspecified," there won't be a manufacturer listed in the .cfg file (not unusual with CFS2 aircraft you can put in FS9). You'll have to make the changes yourself if you want it to show up in the "Aircraft" list in the sim. Not hard - just look at a .cfg file for one that DOES show up, and see what the author did.

Edit: PeteHam is absolutely correct, it is a beautiful aircraft. With an R-2600 sound set it really sings!

Also, if you have Windows 7, it might have installed into C:/Program Files, instead of C:/Program Files (x86). I have not installed this B-25 so I do not know if this the problem, but I have had that happen to me before with other installers. Like most everyone else, I manually install as well.
