As posted in an earlier thread, I'm going to be releasing my RCAF Sabre skins to the Flight Ontario website for download. Here's the first one to be released, my Dad's old ride, 23538, a Mk.6 of No. 439 Sqn, based in Marville, France, during the early sixties. Standard NATO camo scheme of Dark Green and Extra Dark Sea Grey over PRU Blue, with some light weathering and some touching up here and there (it's an operational aircraft after all :)).

Awesome work for an outstanding aircraft!
Looks great!

Time to lighten up the Orenda candle once again...

Cheers,
Markus.

Well, thanks! I have some other RCAF NATO Mk.6 repaints ready but I'm going to leave 434 out of it, your 707 is a hard act to follow :applause:

Sorry, no Orenda 14 and no 6-3 wing (yet)... but we can dream can't we? I hereby start a petition for SF8 to include the Canadair Sabre 5 and 6 in their future inventory, with the Orenda 10 and 14 engines of course! The RCAF and Luftwaffe are waiting! :salute:

Thank you, mate! :salute:
But unlike my rendition, your ship sports the correct wing roundel placement...
We live to learn...

Where do I have to sign?
But I'm sure that one day we'll see further (hard wing also) models.

Jan?
Ya hear me? :wavey:

Cheers,
Markus.

Yep, can't wait for the hard edged, fenced 6-3 version. I've done a bunch of RCAF "Sabre 5" skins as well (also to be released), which I will probably have to completely redo from scratch once the new model is out, as Jan says the mapping will be different. This is not a bad thing :jump:

As for the slatted Mk.6, I don't think it would be a stretch for them to do as it's just the Mk.5 (F-86F-30) model, but with the slats reintroduced (plus changes to the flight model to reflect the more powerful Orenda engine of course). The F-86E we have now is basically identical to the Canadair Mk.2/Mk.4 Sabres, it would be great to have the later Canadair variants too.

But hey, I'm not a modeler, just a skinner, so what do I know? :icon_lol:

just a note guys.. this one is definitely **** ... the fuel system does have something to learn or you'll end up quietly gliding earthward (just ask Taco... although he did a great job of dead-sticking it into a jungle clearing)

Sure.
But the Fantastic manual is very worth reading & obeying.
Flying this beauty outside the envelope will end up with some twisted gear and other hydraulic stuff broken...

@ CG:
Welcome to the club of Sabre Dancers!
But beware:
It might happen that all your other aircraft will collect dust from now on...

@ jocko:
Good to see one more aircraft from Zweibrücken!
My father lives there. The major part of the former RCAF/USAFE airbase is a shopping mall right now.
Very nice scenery here:

Skins now at Flight Ontario

Hi Guys,

The rest of the RCAF Sabre skins will be appearing over the next few days at Flight Ontario's website, it'll take a few days for them to all be uploaded and available so check back often :jump:

Please have a look at the sceneries on the website as well, if you're a fan of WWII-era aviation you'll like the BCATP project! :salute:

@ Markus:

Good stuff! My uncle was stationed at 3 Wing in the early sixties, he flew with 427 Sqn. I'm just putting the finishing touches on a 427 Sabre 6 from that era now. I use a period Zwei scenery by Ed Desroches, pic below:
