RE: 7th Fighter Command/Iwo Jima

Hi All,
Most of you are familiar with photos taken of the P-51 7th Fighter Command based on Iwo Jima. 7th Fighter Command flew the escort missions for B-29's that bombed Japan. I thought beforehand this would be just another replay of photos I had seen before. Wrong. There are some that you've seen before but many 'new' ones. Top quality throughout. From flight photos to personal 'up-front' photos,...they're all there. Plus many tragic and sobering scenes as well. Take your time and be sure to read the captions posted below the photo itself. Enjoy!

Wow , thanks Brad for posting . My Dad sure would have enjoyed these but unfortunately I lost him in Jan 07 . He was with the 3rd Marine Division on Iwo . He said he saw many P51's ground loop and Super Fort's belly land gear up in the surf or crash land on the strips . They all got quite use to diving over the sand piles .

Great pics , thanks again .
