RE: Disney new movie release 'Planes'

Disney will be releasing the animated feature movie 'Planes' August 9th. The trailers show a lot of promise. Hope it's as entertaining as their 'Cars' feature film from a few years ago. One aircraft,...calling himself 'El Chupacabra' is a Gee Bee graphically colored-up with a Latino accent. Pretty funny.
Plenty of trailers to choose from.

I for one am kind of looking forward to seeing this with my grandkids, we really enjoyed the "Cars" movies from Disney/Pixar and the boys love airplanes even more than cars so it should be a good time for all!:applause:

Technically this is not a Pixar made movie.
Although, John Lasseter is Chief Creative Officer now for the animation studios at Disney, and he did have a hand in the production.
Will have to see how the writing and directing holds up, which is usually a strong feature of Pixar movies.
I mean, look at the first 12 minutes of Pixar's, UP!, I dare anyone not to be a blubbering mess. :icon_lol:

Still, I have high hopes for it, and frankly it looks better than both "Cars" (I'm biased), but I suspect "Planes" will be a quite similar feature film.
I'm sure Disney will merchandise the heck out of it, which is okay since their will be some die-casts made. :icon_lol:
Looks like they have used some pretty iconic airframes.

Hopefully this movie will spark some interest in younger audiences to the possibilities of aviation?

Don't know about Die-casts, but I saw the first fluffy 'planes' in store last week.. No doubt followed by a long, long line of toys, models, books and whatnots until way past Christmas!

The movie looks like fun though!

Hey Dain,.....don't you mean El Chupacabra?

Well, that may be his professional Mexican Wrestling, err sorry, "Stage" name, but I know him as "Gee Bee"... :icon_lol:
