Hi All,
Do you know where our military, marble headstones come from? I didn't. Here's a nice video piece that explains from where and the process in making them. BTW,...they definitely do NOT come from,....China.

I know almost exactly where the military headstones come from. During the Vietnam war, my father worked for a quarry in Vermont that produced headstones during the summer to pay for college. I'm not sure if it was in Proctor or possibly Rochester.

I'm glad you posted that Brad as I didn't know what state they came from.

(I'm not in any hurry to collect mine though)
 
Where the stones are inscribed is about 5 miles from me in the next town over. My Grandfather (on Mom's side of the family) was a stone cutter and died from Silicosis (grey lung) in the 40's from all the granite dust he breathed in working in the sheds.
