re-worked droptanks

A while back I reworked the British bombs making them look a little better. I'm having to wait on a couple of projects so I decided to take another look at my Gmax weapons stock pile. I had the American droptanks almost done. After a small error in size I think I have the 108 gallon tanks looking pretty good. These will appear rounder and better than the stock tanks otherwise there is no difference. If you would like to test them you can download them at

http://rapidshare.com/files/167104030/108gal.zip.html

Just drop the m3d file into your 108gal folder which is located at Combat Flight Simulator 3\weapons\a_108gal. Please back up your original file first.
If you download please let me know what you think.

lolz there must be enough fuel to fly 2 times around the world :costumes::costumes:

will try them out :ernae:

:kilroy:Mark Rude, those look really good. Now you can reach Korea...from Kansas City. I can see only two possible problems:

1. Make sure that the prop arc doesn't contact the tanks' sides.

2. Where are you going to find landing gear struts that long?

One definite advantage, though. You can land the plane in very rough seas without incident.:ernae::d

thank you

Mark..........your rounded bombs made a lot of difference.....hated seeing those octagonal bombs.....there are still a few of 'em around, so do pray lift a leg on them when you've time.....been waiting for your work on these too...........muchas gracias

There should have been two pics in my first post. That pic is the small error in size. This pic is the corrected model.

Hi Mark,i cant download the tanks it says error this download can only be downloaded ten times, and this limit has been reached.

LOL

Man that first pic is just too damn funny. Now I know why there is a fuel shortage. They put it all in there:icon_lol:

Ah Mark!

Very much the thing I have been looking for!!!

Would there be any chance of you U/L a standalone version (as a 'building' for scenery use) of the tank and one of a small stack of tanks (8-12 or so)? I would like to sprinkle some of 'em around the dispersals of ACC airfields... It's one of the things that make an airfield look lively and in use. See attached piccies:

BTW, just one remark: I feel that the fuel filler cap should be a tad smaller and the entire body should be silver. Most piccies I found show this. But I would be happy with any 108gal tank!! (or others, if you have anything more up your sleeve...

If you don't like the idea, do you perhaps have a scale drawing or dimensions, so I can try myself?

"You are getting very sleepy... :isadizzy:... 'build a P-61 instead,' 'build a P-61 instead,' 'BUILD IT!'"

He-he. Just kidding guys. Every little bit helps.

Frosty, I was going by the stock tanks for color and size. I could not find any drawing of any of the tanks. You could be right about the cap and color. Give me a day or two and I'll have other tanks ready, I'll PM you then.

I'm sorry rapidshare has changed their policy. They only allow 10 downloads now. I'm working on the 150 gallon tank. When I get it done I'll upload both to a different server. This link is dead.

Hey Mark,

That sounds great!! Your effort is much appreciated!!
(And I only meant the 'cap and colour'-remark as constructive criticism)

There was a limit as to how many times they could be downloaded so, Grizz, can you send 'em to me if you have 'em? thanks, mid
