Hello there,
I did it again! This time with the FSX Realair MK XIV, equipped with the Rolls Royce Griffon engine.
Here is the start sequence, and various systems test.
Hope you like it!

Interesting video. But at least on my Monitor this video (and also all the P-40 videos) are very distorted. E.g. oval gauges and wheels.
Looks like a recorded 16:9 format, displayed in 4:3....?

Hello there; thank you for your comment;
I have never been told about such distorsion of my videos. Have you tried to watch the video straight from the Youtube website ?

Outstanding!

Excellent job, sure shows how it is supposed to be as apposed to the easy way of Ctrl + E!

SG what I have done to get around that is simply change the "Zoom Level" and that seems to do the trick...as apposed to watching "Full Screen" I mean...granted this doesn't work all the time however but more times than not it does fine.

Great job!

I will have to try this.

No problem here with the video.

Best

Wonderful footage!!! Do you use fraps to record this - it's been now three weeks without a usable FSX for me, and this is really starting to make me restless! well done, and happy 2010 to all!

BTW, I always leave the side door open until turning onto the runway for take off, and then take off with the hood open - closing it once I'm in the circuit. Guess it's just a matter of preferance.

Hi there ! thanks for your comment!
Since I have never flown the Spitfire for real, I just rely on manuals, notebooks and movies. And from what I have seen, Spitfire pilots close the side door before cranking up the engine; takeoff and landing with hood open. That's what I do too in my beautiful Spitfires! :jump:
I am glad you liked the vid! :ernae:

Oh right, yeah forgot to say that I do close side door when doing run-ups, BTW do you normally hold at 1500 rpm on run-up?

Oh no! I hold at around 1,000 RPM not to foul the plugs. The 1,500 RPM you are referring to is actually the RPM I get when I open up the boost to 0 lb./sq.in. to perform the Supercharger test. (see at 03:57 on the video or page 26 of the Spitfire XIV pilot's notes provided with the Realair add-on.)
After the Supercharger test is completed, I throttle back to idle. :ernae:

Sorry I forgot to answer this one :

Yes I use fraps to make these vids. I registered recently not to have this recording time limit anymore. :ernae:
