RealFlight Hellcat carrier opps question...

Howdy guys,I am considering buying the RealFlight F6 hellcat,it looks like an excellent plane,my question is for anyone who already has it,do you have trouble with it nosing over when landing on a carrier?I have a freeware HellCat thats a very nice plane, but,I cant get the nose over out of her when I do a carrier landing. If the RealFlight Hellcat does carrier landings with no problem I will definetly by it.I am using Acceleration.

That problem is caused by FSX and insufficient wind, I'm afraid, not the aircraft flight model. The RealFlight aircraft will do it to, unless you do it properly and turn a moving carrier into wind to land.

The big problem is that FSX is geared for tricycle undercarriage aircraft for carrier landings, not taildraggers, so it tries to slam the nosegear down rather than pulling the aircraft backwards to a halt. There's not a lot you can do about that other than decrease your speed over the deck (by adding more wind) to lower the forward moment of the aircraft at the instant you catch a wire.

I'd thoroughly recommend the RF Hellcat anyway!

One of the easy ways to set up carier ops is to use the FSX Accel Carrier Practice Mission , the trick is to
put a check in the check box at the bottom of the selection window for " Allow in-game realism changes "

Once that is checked you can change aircraft and add a headwind or make whatever changes you like.
Hitting save llows you to start on deck , Have Fun !
