Realistic sensitivity settings?

This is kind of embaressing, but im not entirely sure on how joystick sensetivity and null zone actually works as such.
But i think i kind of want to dull down the precision of the joystick.
Right now i just need a slight movement of my saitek av8r for the plane to make a huge movement, and the plane can often skip around like a drunken grashopper.

So i was wondering if anyone could recommend any settings for joystick to get as a realistic experience as possible instead of the insane milimeter movements.

Thanks :)

I suspect that you'll get as many different settings as there are sim pilots on this one, lol, but also remember that the aircraft realism settings play into this as well in a way, so look a those settings also once you get the joystick setup the way you want. I have no idea what my settings are, I never looked at them, I just know they seem fine to me.

Increasing the null zone will require more movement of the stick before it will have any effect.

Before I started using FSUIPC to setup my contollers I rans max sensitivity on all axis and ajuster the null zones just enough to acount for the slight amount of slop around the centre of my stick.
I still do pretty much the same now but through FSUIPC instead of the FSX control options.

Also add a line that reads
stick_sensitivity_mode=0
to the [CONTROLS] section of your fsx.cfg

Another thing to check is to make sure the stick is working correctly.
I bought a 2nd Saitek X-52 after the rudder pot wore out after 3 years. The new stick was hyper sensitive, pulled towards one side and overall almost imposssible to control the quick planes and helis.
If that stick has a calibration program where you can see the stick movement,center ect, run it. In my case I saw the dot would never center and the slightest movement caused the roll to jump around.
Even widening the deadzone the stick would always jump to one side making flying impossbile.
Brand new stick and crap pot.
Worth checking.
