• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Red Bull Aircraft

The DC-6 is outfitted like a big business jet and used as such. I'm not sure what they do with the others.
 
As far as I know, the planes are not raced...but they are flown to air shows through out Europe. The inventor/Owner of Red Bull has more money than Forest Gump and he has done much to preserve a number or rare aircraft and to restore them to pristine condition. Can't recall all the details of how this started, but the first plane he sponsored was being restored by some dude and the Red Bull guy goes "I'll give you a crap load of money to put my brand on your plane" Well, maybe not those words exactly...but you get the picture. There followed a partnership between a guy with more money than should be legal and the guy who finds and restores the planes.

Red Bull no longer sponsor the Vixen, she's now back in a lovely 899sqn scheme. Unfortunately she doesnt seem to fly much since losing the sponsorship money though.
