reducing the sound of passing A/Cs

I have this mission where a flight of gc_swordfish_01 A/Cs fly in font of a departing hurricane, the sound of these passing aircrafts dominates the whole mission. Is there a way to reduce the sound of passing aircrafts?

It may be the AI aircraft section of the sounds.xml file. If you increase the attenuation that might help. Just a guess.
