• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Registry Fix v7.1

n4gix

SOH-CM-2016
Does anyone else use Registry Fix v7.1? I used it for several years (well, progressively earlier versions at least), and have always found it sped up my machine quite a bit if I haven't remembered to scan for a few months... ;)

It's simply amazing the amount of sheer crap that get's left behind! Today's scan found 2698 problems...

...most of which were orphaned shortcuts, invalid file associations, MRU Locations, obsolete ActiveX/Classes, etc. :isadizzy:

I'd never tried it before, so on your recommendation I downloaded it and gave it a try...

While it did find and clean quite a bit of stuff that Registry Fix v7.1 had not flagged in the Registry, it completely wiped out ALL of my cookies, including the ones used for "autologins" at various forums, despite being told specifically NOT to do so...

As a result it has taken me several hours to remember and recreate all my logins again... :isadizzy:

What browser do you use? It will wipe the cookies and forms information if the relevant options are not deselected..:)

I've been using ErrorKiller for the past 4 years and it doesn't wipe out any 'Cookies'. I cost me 57.00 for a one time payment for 2 computers. Works like a charm. www.errorkiller.com

Note: If you go to the ErrorKiller site you might get a flagged warning the site is unsafe... that is not true. Just continue on to the site and download page, it is safe. I just checked and no warning popped up, but it has happened before.

Downloaded and installed CCleaner. Easy installation, good interface, easy to understand.

Seems to do the trick for me. Thanks!
