Reinstalling FS9 for RTWR- any tips ?

Am reinstalling FS9 onto a new rig and will unlikely have access to all my old licensed goodies, so am looking for info for an approved RTW whether engine thats free. Also a short list of about a half dozen recommended freeware planes and gauges. Pretend I'm a noob who'se never raced before.

No information has been officially posted regarding 2017 but past practice has been that most of the base rules and aircraft types are not significantly changed.
While notices may be echoed to the various team websites/forums, all official notifications will appear on the Race website.

The General Rules and 2016 special Rules can be found on the Race website at: https://www.fsrtwrace.com/#page-top

weather:
https://www.fsrtwrace.com/generalrules.php
"You may use the default Jeppesen weather engine, or you may use an appropriate version of one of the following addon weather engines: Active Sky, FS Pilots Global Real Weather, Opus and the freeware FSrealWX. You must declare your weather engine of choice before the race and stick with that choice throughout the race. Teams should post the pilots' choices for all to see"
If you want to try FSRealWX it can be found here: http://www.fsrealwx.net/index.php

The standard list of aircraft is still valid ( and I think you still have access to the Hideout to see some of the comments about usage and performance)

TY sir. Luckily I found my ASv6 hiding out on a flashdrive and seems to still work even under W7 x64. Also found my AH spit, and AS Hornet. Wish I knew where my A2A P-51H and FW190 Dora pack went but I'll keep looking. Also, seems Eamonn's page is down, can't get the required Duenna.

I'll check with Eamonn, but it does appear to be down so I've attached the latest (2.0.396 dated 2/8/16) that I have. It might not be the absolute 'latest Release' (check the "Rxxx" after it's installed - R146) but will do for you to test and once Eamonn's site is available you can update if necessary.

Remember that you also will need the current version of FSUIPC (for 2004 that is 3.999z9) found here: http://schiratti.com/dowson.html

Thanks, installing now. Maybe Paul will setup some test sessions and we can wring out these wrinkles.

In case anyone else gets the ini error in Duenna, here's the location of the CFG files hiding in W7:
I understand the FSX cfg file file in Win 7 is located here:

C:\Users\[your computer name]\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.CFG

I suspect the FS9.cfg file would be located here:

C:\Users\[your computer name]\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9\fs9.CFG

Just starting here myself.

FS9 installed and running.

Duenna downloaded but not installed.

Running a few practice flights to make sure the controls work right.

I feel the pain Dave. Got FSX installed in the 'new box', TeamSpeak runs, Duenna runs, Plan-G runs, FSX runs but still fighting to get the controllers calibrated and configured. At least I have the laptop (with FS9 and X) as a fall-back. Oh, yeah.. I'd better install some planes!
