  • Some packages in your community folder may not have been updated and, as a result, may have an unexpected impact on the title’s performance and behavior.
  • Please move your community package(s) to another folder before relaunching the title if you suffer from stability issues or long loading times.
  • We performed some optimization for the initial full download of the title so the base game is only 83GB instead of +170GB.

  • New AIRAC cycle 2105 has been implemented
  • FAA data has been implemented to our navdata solution
  • Departure gates are now saved in flight plan (.PLN) files
  • Fixed a crash and other issues when selecting a parking space as arrival and no set departure
  • Fixed some Live Air Traffic aircraft using the wrong model
  • Fixed an issue where some Live Air Traffic aircraft had broken callsigns
  • Increased the density of Live Air Traffic
  • Aircraft that are not on the ground but that have an altitude of zero will now appear at a default altitude of 5000m
  • Live traffic stability has been improved
  • ATC phraseology improvements to FAA standards (wording only)

  • Reduced weather data bandwidth
  • Improved precision of live snow coverage
  • “Visual Effect Only” in assistance now does properly deactivate other weather effects
  • “Visual Icing” has been renamed “Icing” in the devmode because it impacts the whole icing system
  • “Icing” in DevMode only changes visual effects if “Visual Effect Only” is activated
  • Ice constant decay is no longer ignored outside of frost conditions
  • Accelerated pitot icing model while making it slower to defrost
  • Fixed pitot icing not scaling with the number of instruments
  • Fixed overspeed controller vibrations not affected by pitot icing
  • Decrease structural icing rate by a factor of 15 for severe icing (6 for moderate)

Finally home and running the update - after arguing with the Store app for a minute or two. Currently working on 4.63GB at an average of ~60Gb/second.
 
I had everything perfectly tuned prior to this update. Now, it's CTD city. Launches for a few seconds then crash. Must be something in the community folder causing the problems. But which file out of 130 gigs?

The community folder is loaded first so it seems likely that's the culprit. I have a folder inside of my Community folder called "Storage" that I drag and drop everything to when updating, then move everything back afterwards. I have had the same issue as you after a previous update, I solved it by adding things back in batches. So launch it with the Community folder empty to be sure it's an addon that is causing it, then add 10 or however many items at a time back to the Community folder, relaunch etc. until you find out exactly which addon is causing the crash.

After having looping on the last two updates I suspected that it may be down to something I'd edited in the official folder so before doing any editing last time I backed up any files I intended to edit first.
Before doing the update this time I restored all the backups first and lo and behold I didn't have any looping this time around :)

I know you edit some of your files too Tom so that may be it.

Me too = something to do with H135 add-on (removing it cure the problem, but it's not really a cure, only an anoyance).

I'm almost happy to see that I'm not alone... almost :173go1:
 
It was the FS-Base folder, and the only thing I ever touch in there is the World Map Filter xml. There are plenty of others that I edit, like the airplanes to increase ground steering. I do them all the same way, with the original files renamed with a .bak extension. I have no clue why one xml would have this effect...

I took the original community folder and gave it a different name. FS2020 will automatically create a new one. But....I threw everything back into the new community folder at once. So now a lot of time culling the data. There have been very large high res mesh (20M), files added recently. I'm pulling those first. Hope it's not the H135, but it could be. The owner's will probably fix that quickly.

I had looping about three times this update. And the looping mostly occurred when installing planes I don't even fly. But I'd seen this before, so I just hit pause, exited the sim, restarted and it picked up where it left off.

The only issue I had was upon restoring my Community folder contents (which only has about 10 things) -- it didn't load any of the scenery add-ons. This has happened to me before so I just used the same trick (deleted the contents of the SceneryIndexes folder) and now everything is working just fine.

I think I'm up to about a 15 step process now for each update. May have to write out a checklist soon.

My problem is that I really like the H135, considering that there's already a date fixed for the release of version 1, and a large meeting around Rio de Janeiro for the occasion, I smell something... :redfire:
 
Would the program MSFS Addon Linker avoid moving the files in and out of the Community folder and allow the updates to happen without any pre-update action?
 
You can just rename the community folder before updating, only takes a second.
I of course forgot to do this...but everything still works :)
I don't use the 135 though...

I have used the Linker without issue since its first appearance. Over a hundred add ons and not a single crash or update problem.

Updated without any problem whatsoever. moving the community stuff back to where they belong.
