• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

i woke this morning to the sound of sirens,i got up and turned on my scanner and heard chatter on the travel channel about a strike team forming up and heading to reno.....thats a 125 mile responce,,,sent a type one and a water tender and a type three later,so three rigs from my department alone...a strike team is 5 local engines and a officer vehical,there is also a water tender strike team of 5 WT's and a command car.

at 5pm PST the fire was at 2000+ acres and 20 to 25 homes lost ( depending on who you listen to),this is nov 18th,there was a blizzard on donner and i heard the second and thrid strike teams had to chain up to cross the pass,then rolled into 55-60 mph winds in reno....

the fire is near south McCarrin and south virgina,,,if you know reno its sort of down town,,,you could see the peppermill in the background behind some burned homes in some of the pics,the airport is across south virgina
