Republic-Ford JB-2

Right you are Clive! These "Loons", as they were called, were actually deployed to the KTO by the USAF. They were to be dropped by B-29's. IIRC, one or two were actually used on a bridge or other such large target.

I thought of the stock V-1 conversion years ago but was unable to secure an appropriate pylon(s) for the Firepower B-29. I even created a custom sound file taken from the Planes of Fame Argus motor video. I didn't upload them as they would not be very useful as flyable aircraft or have a platform to launch from as weapons.

This is one of Dancat's V-1's in a Loon livery. The skins from those days are a bit dated now.

How very cool! I'm sure that a pylon could be made Barry, it's the targeting that would be the issue. Unless it was just for eye candy?

I found more info here. https://military-history.fandom.com/wiki/Republic-Ford_JB-2
