• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Tomorrow! 16 of August will be released the new update with 2gb of textures - ehnanced version for owners of Texture Direct and Soft Clouds. It will work with P3Dv4 also. It will be free update. TY REX!

It will take PC Aviator a week or so to update their files. Then, I will be gone on a photo trip for two weeks. So, I guess I will check it out in Sept.

Oh well, maybe ORBX's airports will be working by then. I just bought a half dozen while they are on sale. Can't use them, however, until everything is working in V4.
 
I'm going to assume that the TD/Soft Clouds menu will pick that up with the update feature. This should be another one of those major improvements. Looking forward to it, and thanks for the HU!
 
Per REX's announcement on their site, you can choose to either re-download from your original purchase store, or just get the update
patch through your REX updater.

Hmm, I purchased Texture Direct from PC Aviator and the Soft Clouds update from the REX Store. I wonder which one I go to if
I want to re-download. Maybe both? Probably just easier to use the auto update function.

Ah! Apparently PC Aviator is currently not offering REX products: when I went to check on my Texture Direct download link purchased from
PC Aviator some years ago, there was note:

V4 Version Released (I.e., Soft Clouds Version)

Just downloaded the V4 version. Off to do some testing.
 
Ugh...my downloads expired at the seller's site. Can I install the original into P3D4 without damage, and will I then need to go through 400 Hotfixes before I can install the newest update?

My old link had expired at the seller's site as well. But I simply downloaded and installed through my TD+Soft Clouds updater.
This is a patch, so it just overwrites your existing TD+Soft Clouds, you don't need to uninstall. Because it's a patch (albeit a
2 gb patch), you can choose to download anywhere convenient on your machine.

It doesn't add that much, except for the "Enhanced" to the screen title, and changes the background color a bit. The main
apparent difference is a bar space now to choose P3Dv4 as your sim under Configuration settings. Otherwise it operates
exactly the same as before, so no relearning curve.

The textures install just fine into P3Dv4, same speed as with my old FSX install.

I'm glad it's finally available: I was missing those additional textures in v4.
