This may sound like a rookie question, but I'll ask it anyway - I took the hint from another thread and investigated the Ready For Pushback B-747 and found it to look interesting, so downloaded the package. I prefer to download into a holding folder and manually review the various files prior to installing. I followed this procedure with the RFP package. After opening the basic package with the panels, sounds, etc I posted the panel folder (which contains two panels - analog and tape) into the aircraft folder where the aircraft could access it, then used an "alias" feature for both panel folders in the actual RFP aircraft folder. The gauges that came with the aircraft went into the main "gauges" folder for FS9, as well as into the individual panel folders. Upon selecting one of the aircraft for review, I found both panels in their respective places but they were lacking the round gauges associated with them (i.e., ASI, VSI, HSI, etc). The approach I've outlined works for every other aircraft I've installed in FS9, but for some reason won't work for this one. Is there a separate download for these gauges, or have I somehow overlooked them in the install? BTW the links given in the download for going to the RFP website, for any reason, are no longer valid. Apologize in advance if this properly belongs in the other thread, I tried there but since it seemed to have run its course I posted here as a new topic.

I installed this plane straight up with the installer and it puts the folder RFP_V2 into the FS9 root folder.

If you look in the panel files the gauges are referenced as:

gauge00=../RFP_V2/RT742_Analog_Night_F, 0,0,1024

My understanding is that this says to look in the root folder, then folder RFP_V2, for file RT742_Analog_Night_F

This is opposed to something like:

gauge00=Leopard!Asi

which tells the sim to look in the default gauge or panel folder for archive Leopard and in that archive for gauge Asi.

This is just my understanding, I'm sure someone can explan more profeciently.

Gauge Folder

I have a folder called RFP_V2 in the main folder of FS9 that contains the gauges for the panels. The only thing that I could recommend is that you put the RFP_Panels folder into the aircraft folder and paste over your alias panel.cfg that you edited. Also make sure that the RFP_V2 folder that you put in your gauge folder move it out into the main FS9 folder.

Success!!

I placed the main aircraft folder in the FS9 root directory - next step was to place both panel files in the aircraft's folder. I renamed the analog panel "panel" and the tape panel "panel.1". They now work in every respect.

Next step is to find the manuals. Using the links provided with the help files takes me to a website having to do with industrial control panels. Will have to dig a little to find the books.

Thanks again guys!:salute:
