Anybody knows what's happening with that ?....

This combo used to change windowed mode to full screen (not sure anymore about vice-versa) but apparently not anymore. I just tried it to change to full screen and my plane entered a wild right wing dive and became totally uncontrollable !??.... What the heck happend !???

Not really sure yet but Right/Ctrl - Enter seems to undo whatever happend here..

Anybody else have the same experience ?....

Thanks! ( and might there be another key combo to change from windowed to full screen ?...)

Thanks gents !

Left/Alt-Enter does nothing for me, Paul... Interesting that it works for you !

Also very interesting that Right/Alt-Enter still works fine for you, John....

Must say this is not the only strange phenomenon happening in my precious MSFS lately (maybe after update 15, not really sure). A weird thing like AP taking over all of a sudden is the biggest problem. Sometimes hitting the Z key takes care of that, sometimes not...It's like MSFS has become 'unstable' somehow. Oh well, with MSFS24 around the corner i'm not that worried anyway..

Thanks guys !

Left Alt+Enter toggles windowed mode on/off for me too.
Thanks tiger ! (y)

Becoming stranger and stranger... I'm almost start thinking it's my keyboard..... It certainly is an 'out of the ordinary' keyboard ( Azio Retro Classic) but it worked perfectly for the last 3 years and not seen this weird happenings in MSFS before..

How very odd. Do you have any other issues with keys not working, Jan ? i.e. other games, utilities, word processors etc ?

Check your keyboard mapping in-sim. I'm not on my flight rig right now, but it may be a default mapping that somehow got "unmapped."

Not that i know of, Paul. I don't play much other games, just Transport Fever 2 (i dare say actually more than MSFS...;-), Planet Zoo and the Discovery Tour versions of Assasins Creed every now and then. Never a problem with any keys, they all work perfectly fine. Also no problems with word processing, paint programs or even 3dsMax or Blender. It's just MSFS that seems to be completely off of its rocker nowadays... ;-)

Afraid not, Paul. I think i have to come to the conclusion that my keyboard's 'Alt' key simply is not recognised by MSFS... No key combo with 'Alt' included does anything.... No doubt it is the price i have to pay (on top of the expensive keyboard itself...) for having that exclusive 'Azio Retro Classic' keyboard. The round, copper edged keys resemble that of a vintage type writer but it's the lighted letters, figures and symbols i partcularly bought it for. It also has a lovely semi leather green board and handrest. The Windows menu *does* pop up when i hit the Alt key so atleast that's something. I don't like using my keyboard to help me fly my virtual aeroplanes anyway so it's not that much of a problem. I *did* like the easy switch from Windowed to Full Screen very much with my normal keyboards but i don't even want think about going back to any of 'em ( you know, within a couple of weeks the A, S and E already started to fade away.... ;-/ No more ! ;-)

Thanks for asking, Paul ! :encouragement:

There was a clue in your post, Javis! The Alt key should not bring up the Windows menu. Makes me think the keyboard mapping is messed up.

Any chance it got inadvertently switched to Mac mode? That will change the function of the Alt/Win/Ctrl keys. Maybe check, and flip back and forth, the switch to make sure it’s set to PC?

You can also check the mapping of the various keys here. See if hitting Alt shows the proper response on the keyboard:

Fantastic ! Thanks very much, Denny ! :encouragement:

Yes, the switch is deffinately set to PC, not MAC. But this fantastic keyboard checker says it all. I finally know now that 'Alt' = 'Win' and 'CMD' = 'Alt' if that makes any sense..... I might've been pushing the wrong key all the time... :ROFLMAO: I learned a bit about my fancy keyboard when i installed it of course but that's years ago. I finally know now what that 'CMD' key is for : 'Alt' !!! Have to try that now, will report back. Thanks so much again, Denny !! Possibly made my day !!

Awesome, Javis! I've found myself in the identical situation, so I'm glad I was able to share that.

It's likely the keycaps are swappable and they arrived in the "Mac" layout (thus the CMD key). So you could just swap ALT and CMD keycaps and everything will be copacetic. :) (Just having to remember CMD is Win, but that's one less swapped key at least...)

I had to work with Apple MacIntosh computers for 15 years 1992-2006 as a graphic designer in the print industry. I wouldn't have one at home.

I worked at Microsoft for 16 years, including a stint on Windows. I have PCs for gaming (my flight sim rig and an Asus ROG Ally), and a MacBook Air M2 and iPad Pro for portable/productivity stuff.

Both systems are great for different things.

Bingo !! Made my day indeed, Denny, thanks again ! :encouragement:

Got the Windowed/Full Screen back with 'CMD/Enter' alright ! Wow! How could i not have tried that. Always wondered about that CMD key (Command ??....) As you already suggested i swapped the Alt/Opt and CMD keys. All fine now. In fact a while ago i bought a new set of keys for a very reasonable price. The (round) keys' faces are painted black except the letters so the light shines only thru them. The black paint however starts to desintegrate with the keys mostly used so you can easily replace those. Intelligents should finally find a way to make keyboard keys resist our poisonous fingertips... (come to think of it, why don't i try those fancy white gloves for handling delicate machinery, maybe that'll help.. ;-)

Thanks again Denny and everyone ! To quote Inspector Clouseau : " the case is sol-ved"
