OK, so I'm in Clearwater Florida getting my year's worth of continuing education:applause:. It's been cold and rainy, been sitting in lecture halls the whole weekend, and I'm in my rental car making my way to the airport with about 4 hours to kill before my flight home:running:. My wife didn't even come with me. Cell-phone solitaire, anyone?

Out of the corner of my eye, off the side of the highway at a smaller airport, something is out of the ordinary - I snap my head to the left, and there, is the unmistakable vertical stabilizer of a B-17G Flying Fortress:stop:. Behind it is the twin tail of a B-24J Liberator:isadizzy:. By this time, I am taking an exit to turn around, pinching myself - surely I'm dreaming. As I get closer, the polished aluminum of a P-51C Mustang comes into view:USA-flag:.

Here are the photos - sorry for the poor quality of the photography, but I took these with my cell phone. I was wishing I had my good camera with me! I'm guessing Rami's new avatar photo is in front of "Witchcraft". These birds were flying later in the day - a cool 2 grand for 30 minutes in the Mustang... Wow. I was lucky to get to fly in the B-24D "Diamond Lil" and tour the B-29 "Fifi" in about 2001 at Wendover, UT, where the 509th Composite Bombing Group trained for the atomic ops before deploying to Tinian. We actually lived pretty close to Wendover back then. I highly recommend the experience, and split up about 10 ways, it's a lot more doable than the Mustang! It's always a thrill to see these majestic warbirds! Anyway, here's the link:
