Ripping Fabric

While flying, I've been getting a ripping fabric sound usually preceded by a pop sound (like wood snapping). It sounds close by, like MY a/c but I can't see any signs of damage. I'm not over hostile territory, don't hear or see flack or AA, and I'm too high (I think, 8000ft) for lucky groundfire which would be friendly anyway. Seems to happen at random intervals, level flight, 90-95% throttle, various a/c. Known bug?
It really doesn't cause me any harm that I can tell, just scares the :bs: out of me every time it starts.
TIA!

Not to be concerned about the ripping canvas, however I can't stop from thinking about the 'Little Boy who cried Wolf'

Wait till you hear CHURCH BELLS over your engine :costumes:

It Happens :isadizzy::isadizzy::costumes:

I always thought it was other planes crashing, though the sound of them was too loud. But I remember reading something about it saying the problem will be fixed in P3. So don't worry.

Church bells? Oh great, something else to look forward to.
Thanks.

These problems were all solved in Phase 3. No ripping for no reason, no loud Churchbells, no missing pilots... etc.

Phase2 was a beta, and by all means was never finished. Phase 3 is complete... and can now be used as a solid foundation to build on down the road.

Also in the Look Forward To Dept.

Although I've been assured it's been addressed in Phase 3

If you do a dead stick landing in NML, and the landing is OK. But the on the rollout, your SE5 goes into a river, and sinks like a stone.

You'll find yourself dressed as a WWII pilot, floating on the river, in a Brite Yellow inflatable life raft :isadizzy::isadizzy::isadizzy:

You could try to side-slip on the way in to reduce speed. I've had a few dead stick landings where the big clearing was beyond my glide abilities so I had to make do with a smaller area and had to scrub off some speed to keep out of the trees. It's not too hard (you need rudder control!!), just rudder one way and roll to the opposite (aka cross-controlling) and remember to straighten out before touching down.

Never saw he raft but I have jumped out of my AC and gently floated to the ground on a parachute that was not there.

All this nothing to really worry about; and have a look at the thread "Anyone for a brew" (or something) further down. Really funny; troops sitting down for tea right in front of your Camel. I liked that pic.
Cheers; Olham

Also another little Hint that I discovered the HARD way: If you are faced with a Dead Stick landing, in proximity to an Army Base, they normally have a wide open flat Parade Ground which will serve well as an emergency landing field. However in the areas nearby the front, they have the nasty habit of stacking piles of crates, in no particular pattern, all over the Parade Grounds. You won't see them until you have committed yourself to landing there. By then as we know, it's too late to change your plans. Now I know what a Pinball feels like, I survived, but my Sopwith Triplane will never fly again . .:costumes:

Phase 2 wasn't a "Beta" in the real sense, even Phase 2 had a beta phase. What OvS means is it was incomplete.

By definition Phase 2 of 3 is not complete.

Many things are temporary, or incomplete or need improving. It only took 3 years to get that far.. but did what it was meant to do.

5 years now we are at Phase 3 - something we are proud of and even better than we thought it could be at the outset.

There you go again

Building our anticipation Mr. Polovski. I am so glad that you expectations have been exceeded. That bodes well for the likes of myself. :mixedsmi: I think P2 is fantastic! Thanks for all your hard work and contributions. I wish you and the team a rich reward for all your efforts.

Mr Polovski builds anticipation with good reason.

I have had the privilege of seeing and experiencing OFFBHH.

You are all in for the treat of your lives!!!!!!!!:ernae:

So , count to

end January given Christmas rush, etc, and OFF should be here. I'm going to buy it for my wife's Birthday present. She will be sooooooo happy that finally I will be occupied, and not bothering her incessantly :icon_lol:.

Till then .......more missions will be on the way.
