Rob Richardson; Supermarine Seafire F46

Anybody know where I can download Rob's Supermarine Seafire F46

The Seafire is here on the Outhouse? I just checked. You can download it. But it's the MK47. I have the MK46 in my archive, not the F46. I think you mean that one?

There is a "
Supermarine Seafire F46" done by Rob. There are 5 or 6 skins for it over on "Flightsim.com" made by "Peter Watkins".
So I guess now there are 2 of us looking for it.

A repaint for Rob Richardson's Supermarine Seafire F46 for Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration (available from http://robertjamesrichardson.co.uk/ ).LA542 was the prototype Seafire F46 and was used extensively for spinning trials.Only 24 production examples were built and because the wings did not fold they were relegated to training and trials with Reserve Units and Station Flights.
Repaint by Peter Watkins.

A repaint for Rob Richardson's Supermarine Seafire FR47 for Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration (available from http://robertjamesrichardson.co.uk/ ).
VP483 was shore based at Lee-on-Solent but was part of HMS Ocean's Carrier Air Group in late 1949.
Repaint by Peter Watkins.

Installation:

Copy the texture file into the 'Supermarine Seafire Mk 47' folder in FSX SimObjects 'Airplanes' folder.
Copy and add the following to the aicraft CFG file, replacing the 'xx' with your next number in sequence.

[fltsim.xx]
title=seafire Mk 47 VP483
sim=seafire Mk 47
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=VP483
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_type=seafire Mk 47
atc_model=seafire
atc_airline=ROYAL NAVY
atc_flight_number=180
atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT
atc_id=VP483
ui_manufacturer="Supermarine"
ui_type="seafire"
ui_variation=VP483
ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="Robert Richardson"
description=VP483 was shore based at Lee-on-Solent but was part of HMS Ocean's Carrier Air Group in late 1949.

I guess this problem is hereby solved!

The only Seafire F46 that I can find was done by AF Scrub. I did see the Watkins repaints at flightsim.com. No references anywhere else for Rob's Seafire F46.

Just sent an email off to Rob. The repaint dates are 2018 but just wondering if this is another "early" model that Rob didn't release out for wide distribution. . .similar to his DH Vampire 100 that was a "one-off".

Hi, P Watkins installation file shows:

[fltsim.xx]
title=seafire Mk 46 LA545
sim=seafire Mk 46
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=LA545

No call for F46.
In my view it is unlikely F46 was done by Rob Richardson

BTW: to me the canopy has a strong reflection effect, that lighten too much the cockpit area when seen from outside. Is there a way to adjust this effect?

Rob did produce a Mk.46 for FSX. It was likely available on his site early in 2019.

The file was: FSX Supermarine Seafire Mk 46.zip

Most likely it was overlooked when he loaded his earlier works to the SOH Library.

Best you contact him and ask.

Here is a "sendspace" link to my Seafire 46.
Peter did some very nice accurate repaints for it.

I think the Mk 46 was compiled for P3D v4.
don't know if it will work in FSX.

Rob

It works in FSX. The weapons and the fuel tank appear when you turn on the lights. That's the same in the FSX version. Beautiful aircraft!

Worked for me as well. Every time I think I've got all Rob's FSX stuff I come across something I missed. Hope Falcon adds this one to the Library.

Thanks Much :guinness::guinness::guinness:

I sent a request to Rob for permission to upload to the Warbirds library. Just waiting to hear back from him.

UPDATE: Rob requests that no upload be done, but rather that anyone who wants the airplane send a request to him and he'll send a link for download.
