Rollus FSX Crusader Fixes

I thought I'd start a thread on this beauty. The Alphasim FS9 model is still in my hangar for all the great repaints, but I'm slowly being drawn to this lovely for the more immersive cockpit experience.

DL, try these contact points in your Crusader, not yet finished so see how you get on with a arrested landing using the current tail hook, hopefully this will have removed your nasty bump.

Crusader contact points test.

Back up the aircraft.cfg first

Rich,

I tried those, and it didn't help much.

I checked the hook placement, and found some issues (using your hook attach script) - fixed it to thus:

[TailHook]
tailhook_length=6.47
tailhook_position=-20.05, 0.00, -3.13
cable_force_adjust=1.0

There is still a pretty violent pitch over, (not quite a nose flip), but she is still coming off the mains at least couple of feet - then the nose bounces up a couple on rebound. I've seen footage of the Crusader coming off a foot or or, but the nose stays put (albeit compressed). In fact, I could live with the rears coming up - it's the nose bouncing up that's annoying ....

Thoughts?

thanks,

dl

DL, the Boss is back so lots to do in the dockyard.

The tail hook is not the problem

You will find using the vis model attach points very often does not work especially with tail draggers so it is not a fix everything tool.

Hi Rich,

I know the tailhook placement won't solve all the problems - it was a start, though, and it was off a bit.

Daube, yes, following touchdown, I always go apply full military thrust until cable is confirmed engaged.
