They are offering 10,000 people the opportunity to spend the day walking, roaming the 14,000 ft X 200 ft chunk of concrete (including a/c displays - rumours are of a 787 and a DC-3 among others)

Now this is a way to get people interested in aviation and have memorable experience!

While stationed at NAS Lemoore, we would periodically have to FOD walk the runways which are 13,500 feet long (each). There were no aircraft displays though... Sounds like fun.
