Hi Fibber,
Saw your post about having probs converting Fs9 texs to CFS2. Not easy is it?! :d.
It can be done but in two ways. One will give you the quality you want and the other the sort of look (better than the stock texs!!)
If you use a prog like FSSC you can make your own airports/runways etc and use different pics and qualities to suit. This is where you can convert and use your RE Pro or other texs to get the look you want.
Were you trying to convert tex to be used as default runways in CFS2?
If you were, you need to use a Martin Wright graphics prog, called Convr8.exe and DXTbmp.exe. The stock runways in CFS2 use a low res 256 colour, R8 file format or small sampled 444 16 bit bmps. The problem with this is that because they are only low res or sampled from a small area of the picture then you can only really achieve a slightly better than stock result, BUT it is better!
Below are runway pics of Fs9 converted, stock, combo of conv and stock, reduced to 256 pixel Fs9 and a converted tex to the 444 bmp tex. I use the the Fs9 converted.
Hope this helps!
Cheers Shessi
