Russian Ekranoplan "Lun" Project

More ship than plane...didn't Boeing have plans for a huge 1,000-tonne monster?

Kind of sad to see a machine in such a decrepit state, though a brilliant photoseries.
Thanks for the link, LD.

D'ya think they could have stuck a couple more radomes or gun positions on that thing??? :d
I would've loved to see it in flight, or whatever it did, when it was operational.

with so many pics, who knows, maybe someone will make one for fsx?

on a side note, someone with alot of $$ could probably turn that thing into a sweet yacht. i bet those somali pirates would crap their pants if they ran up on that thing. :icon_lol:

closest idea Boing.... sorry Boeing has is the 'Pelican' uses WIG Effect for cruising...

I thought I'd seen all the pics of this creature, thanks for the new ones! Alphasims Caspian Sea Monster is a trial to fly. I worked on it a bit to get it actually skimming the water with wing wakes but it needs constant attention. I am still searching for a good sound file for it. The closest has been for a DC-8. Nice and loud. Talk about Beauty in the Beast!

Here's one rotting away in the Ukraine on the Caspian Sea. Not the same one as in the photos on the linked Russian site. 900+ ft. altitude GoggleEarth pic.
