Russian WW II aircraft wish list

Top of list for Russian fighters would be the Yak-3,La-5FN,La-7. Others would be the IL-2 and Pe-2. Desperately needed for the Eastern Front. Still play Il-2 '46 to fly these aircraft but would like to just use CFS3 instead. This would give us another theater of operation to make this the sim that covers most of WW II and able to compete with Il-2 46 as it is now a massive combat flight sim. Threads here. http://www.airpages.ru/eng/ru/yak3.shtml http://www.airpages.ru/eng/ru/la5fn.shtml http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/detail.asp?aircraft_id=1233 http://www.sharecg.com/v/79771/browse/5/3D-Model/Petlyakov-Pe-2 and much needed Il-2 http://www.sharecg.com/v/53866/browse/5/3D-Model/IL-2-Sturmovic What we have now i'm thankful of but more are still needed to make the sim even more immersive on the Eastern Front that's being worked on. What do any of fellow simmers think ?

Hmm. close to mine but would prefer the il-2 and pe-2 absent for so many years. I think there were shots of one in a previous thread on the pe-2 and il-2 not far in this forum. So keep hopes up.

I agree! an IL-4 and maybe a Tu-2 would also be nice. I don't have any plans to get into aircraft modeling any time soon, but there are also some Eastern Front vehicles that need modeling... Who knows? For right now I think I will focus on facilities, spawns, and the occasional building.

Russian tanks,aa guns and other war vehicles are also much needed. Is the eastern front a add on to MAW or a separate expansion for CFS3 ?

The biggest need I see as far as ground units would be light tanks and artillery. Some assault guns would also be good, as Soviet tactics used them heavily. As I understand it, Dewoitine is working on a separate Eastern Front 1943 expansion.

I am feeling a little more comfortable with modeling vehicles, my biggest hassle is texturing.

For now i git my Eastern Front fix with Il-2 '46-(4 installs) when it comes to Russian aircraft it's hard to beat. There is room for more WWII combat flight sims but CFS3 and Il2 '46 are at the top of the list. Not a fan of the more recent Il-2 series as they seem to be more games than sims. Lots of eye candy but that's it. Would be nice to have a Eastern Front for CFS3 but Il-2 '46-(modded) covers it nicely for now.

Bad link buddy. Have the one found here at SOH and what's in ETO 1.50. Also have the payware La-5,9 and 11. The Mig 3 too.

Would like to see the La-5 FN and La-7 sometime in the future along with the Yak-3. The and Pe-2 and Il-2 are at the top of the list. Now if we could have just a portion of what is available for CFS2 i'd be in hog heaven !

After researching online and in my books that the Yak-3 was one of the best fighters in WWII. Pilots prefer the Yak-3 over the later models. Was a big shock to the Luftwaffe when it became operational . Beautiful plane to boot. Maybe we'll have this in CFS3 in the future . One can only hope that the big gap in available Russian aircraft will get better. I promise to give up Il-2 '46 in return !!!

Plus there's this AI-only R-10 which I should try and do something with one day...

Great news on the P-40's and the R-10. Let's don't forget about the Pe-2 and Il-2 also. These aircraft are must haves in order to have a immersive Eastern front along with Russian guns and armor .

Just bumping along:bump: to see if anybody is working on any Russian aircraft. A great gap is there in the Russian aircraft selection. The next big step for CFS3 would be the Eastern Front. Maybe one day......

well a few days back Ive bought another month edition of my favortite ww2 magazine which this time was related completely to russian war planes 1938-1945. not all airplanes are described there, just the most known, including the lend-lease ones. anyway a prefect reader stuff for me.

no surprise I was hot to start try to make some of them, as usually as simple AI airplane for start. means not much well done VCs. however, such development is not possible present day too much, but definitelly not impossible in future, if god allows.

as you already know about me, the more interest into current project is, the more I am fosucing on such work. a weak or zero public interest causes no progress or a big slowdown :)

aside the airplanes Ive made some lowpoly models by past of russian tank and truck and jeep, so like such german units. they could fit perfectly as ground unit targets, just having no experience witch such CFS3 object implemetation.

Having Russian aircraft is what got me into the whole Il-2 series ending with Il-2 '46. There i get my Russian fix. Since installing BAT i've logged about 20 hours and like it a lot. Hate to have to go to another sim to play the eastern front but it is what it is. Maybe one day..... P.S. What mag are you reading ?

I see, so thats the point why are you still sticky with Il-2 series ;)

as to the mag, at our country I can get plenty of military or science related stuff, as I am doing ;) just needs to make a small walk from office when cofee time ;) here is my popular mag series publisher and this one is what I was talking about. sometimes they selling two for a price of one (usally older publications) ;)

I enjoy Wings and Airpower mags. That is the series as a kid i grew up around. Had a Uncle that would give me his older copies and i started drawing aircraft. From about 6 on they fueled my imagination . Still enjoy them. Yours looks interesting . Boy, i need lessons in language . :dizzy:

found a nice Yak-3 model at SketchFab today. a pretty nice polycount. did a quick convert into CFS3, out of a pure curiosity.
