I finally got round to tidying up my repaint for Yashico's A5M4A, depicting a plane from Ryujo's Fighter Hikotai circa Jan'42. It's uploaded & waiting authorisation.

Description: Yashico A5M4A Repaint - Ryujo Hikotai JAN'42 by UncleTgt

This is a repaint for Yashico's A5M4A Claude for CFS2.

It represents an aircraft used by Ryujo's Fighter Hikotai during the conquest of the Philippines & Dutch East Indies circa January 1942.

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS2 install.

Thanks to: Yashico for an excellent series of aircraft models.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions

You're getting Morton's touch for painting shiny metallic textures. Great work on this, buddy! :very_drunk:
 
To be fair the basis is Morten's Green Claude skins, with some 3-view drawing overlays & lot's of work lightening up & removing a lot of the dirt & "noise", as it didn't look good on such a light coloured, plain paint.
 
Hi Xavier, I really like the reworking you did for Yashico's Claude, it's the start point for this repaint. I'm playing with the idea of releasing some more early war/PTO skins, maybe not as comprehensive as the ki-27 sets I did recently, but with a similar aim.

Some WIP screenshots:

9-151 of the 14th Kokutai, Weichow, circa NOV'39. a/c from this unit involved in shoot-down/force-landing of a DH86 Express.

S-123 of the Chitose Kokutai, Truk, circa JAN'42. This looks wrong in silver & red tail, but there are plenty of colour profiles that reference it. The Chitose ku provided fighter defence across the Japanese mandate in the Carolines & Marshalls. a/c from this unit may have been involved fighting US carrier a/c during the Marshalls raid.

F-104 of the 4th Kokutai, Rabaul, circa FEB'42. Looking more like the Ryujo colour scheme, this is an ex-Chitose ku a/c flown into Rabaul after the occupation to help form the Fighter Hikotai for the new 4th Ku.
