Saitek or P3D Problem?

I've been having problems with my Saitek X55 and Prepar3D. Every so often the assignments (which I set through P3D's control options) disappear ie a switch that I have assigned to toggle the landing gear will loose its assignment. I also have a different problem with Dovetails Games Flight School in that the throttle jumps between closed and fully open, but I'm not sue if those problems are related.
My problem is, I can't decide if the problems with the sim(s) or the Saitek joystick. Has anyone else had those problems?

I have the problem with my Thrustmaster when I use TacPac. Every now and then, the trigger and pickle button assignments get lost. I don’t know whether this information helps; perhaps it gives you a clue.

i have no idea myself,,with FSX my CH products yoke wouldnt stop causing the nose wheel on all tricycle planes flop back on forth rapidly, yaknow left right left right..and the throttle quads snapped back and forh from full to off..so i went to P3D and it was still happening,,so i switched to all saitek controllers and those gave me issues with FSXSE and P3D as well..here one controller would work, and another would fail..id get them all working again..and then the same issue..only a different controller would not function.i literally gave up...nothings installed now and theyre even all out in the shed..

From V2 of P3D onwards I lost my CH controls and P3D will not recognise them. Solved the problem by mapping the controls through FSUIPC.

Thanks for your replies, I still can't figure out if the problems the stick or the program. I have lost setting which have been programed through FSUIPC, or more accurately they have failed to work. I'm considering returning the X-55 because I only bought it in October, I loved it at first but now I'm beginning to question it, so I may go back to my Warthog.

Have you checked with P3D tech support? They have a hardware specific sub forum.

Never had a problem with my X55, I havent installed the saitek software

Each time I change a setting with controls, I close P3D and restart it to ensure its saved correctly otherwise sometimes if I dont do a restart it wont save correctly. Ive been doing this method for a while now and never had a problem with the X52 or X55
