SAMM attempt

SOH-CM-2014
Just tried the my first SAMM SA placement. It seems simple enough; navigate to the source for particulars, save the bgl which brings up the placement box, I used slew to get coordinates, then the SA gets saved as a texture and scenery folder set like any addon scenery with a pop-up asking where you want to save them. You then give the scenery folder a name, move the texture and scenery folders into that, then place everything into addon scenery and activate it as usual because from then on you can create any number of SA and add them to the same folder to populate an entire area. But something didn't work, or I screwed up somewhere cause nothing showed up. Back to the instructions.:crybaby:

You have installed the scenery inclusive your bgl file, correct ? Have you also added the "model bgl file'" to your scenery ? and the textures of it to the texture folder of your scenery? Maybe thats the reason.

Yep, nope, yep. So I also noticed that I put the height at whatever but AGL was checked. I should have looked up for the thing. The learning continues.

Bingo. It now shows up and all I have to do is bring it down about 10 feet. I'm also hoping I'm right that now multiple SA can be placed in one addon folder, would get overwhelming fast if each Sa needed its own.

Many thanks Andi!

So as I'm populating a maintenance area, I'm putting 3-4 A319s in and yes, all I had to do was go through the process to select the AC and simply rename the particular bgl created to make it unique, then just add that to the existing scenery folder already in the addon list and it shows up in the new location. So far the positioning parameter xx* xx.xx' allows adequate placement precision. Can't wait to try carrier decks.

Much later.. I have noticed now that the coordinate format xx* xx.xx' is not precise enough for close-in placement. Is there a way to have the format xx.xxxxxx appear when slewing? It is available in the samm tool box.

For the exact position I use a second tool. The Runway 12 object placer. Before I start to create a scenery object I figure out the position first with it. Maybe not the best way, but it works 100%.
