Aah, but with a good scope, one can see aa black line across the planet from the shadow. When going in and coming out from edge-on, the rings look like a spear chucked through the orb.
Sad thing is, Saturn is about to go into the sunset and is very hard to see after sunset now, in murky dusk lit evening light. The planet will emerge as a morning star in a month. By the time one gets to look at it again. the rings will have returned.
Jupiter is almost at opposition in the Capricorn, rising a couple hours after sunset. It is high enough to view from 10:00 PM until sunrise.
I am a space cadet and have been since I was 13. Right about Venus, but this is not the best of morning views, it is coming out at an side angle opposed to Earth's orientation, so it will not get very high in the morning sky before it starts to dip back into its solar transit and returns as an evening object.
