• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Screenshot Posting at SOH

I guess this is one for the moderators/adminstrators re posting images and screenshots.

I had use Photobucket but with the changes to their methods (yet another racket) I switched to adding images as attachments. This limits the size and for me results in two images, the image posted and a smaller attachment image, instead of a clean single image. The upload dialogue box allows for URLS but I cannot see how to upload other than the method I am using from my PC. Is there a better way or is the hyperlink to a hosting site the only way to get a clean single shot into the post?

I also noted when checking that I have used 64 mb of storage space at SOH doing this over time, this concerns me because of the strain it will place on SOH's site and resources over time as well. I make donations to help out but it may not be enough.

What are the thoughts oh wise ones?

If you upload your pics through the "Manage Attachments" button, you will only get one image. But generally people don't like this method, since the images will be gone when you clean out your attachments.

If you use the "Insert Image" option, and select "from URL" and leave the "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" checkbox checked, you will get two images. If you uncheck the box, you will get just one image.

If you use the "Insert Image" option, and select "from computer", the file becomes an attachment, but you also get two images. Ok, that one is odd. Still trying to figure that one out.

Best option is simply to find another image hosting site, lol.
