Screenshot programs

In your opinion which one is the best?
Maybe a why you think so would be cool; or not.

Freeware...
Payware...

Come on guys, I'm looking for a good screenshot program and am really hoping for a little advice.

Which one do you use?

For taking screenshots in FSX? I just use the built in screenshot saving function. By default, it's the V key.

Yeah, hit the letter V and get a nice BMP file waiting for you to edit away. Why introduce yet another program to run alongside FSX?

Of course, my screen shots sux, so what do I know?

I use a registered version of Fraps if it is for in game.

Fraps does not work for just a general screen shot for that I use SnapShot V4 you can get it at AVSIM

Thanks for all the input, now I'll have to do some checking of the programs listed above.

In my opinion the 'V' isn't that good on two fronts. First it is a HUGE file weighing in at a whopping 5MB each. Secondly it is a weird size 1280X1024 instead of a standard 1024X786.

The standard screenshot JPEG @ 1024X786 weighs in at about 450kb.
That is the reason that I was asking about another program.

Thank you again all for the input, it is much appreciated. :ernae::jump::ernae:

It always captures in the resolution your FSX is configured to use, and so do all other screenshot capture programs.

Other than using the V key in FSX I'm still using Martin Wright's MultiGrab with other Sims.
It's free and it's configurable. You can choose if you want to grab in bmp or jpg format and allows you to configure jpg compression.
