Seafury Wicked Fly-by

Argonaut? That's a seriously souped-up Fury! The feeble Centaurus (a mere 2500hp WEP) has been removed and a Wright R-3350 fitted instead (2800hp on full boost). That thing averages over 400mph just above ground level, the original spec Sea Fury needed to be at altitude for such speeds.

If anyone wonders what zoom climb means, just watch how fast Argonaut climbs after that pass - that's momentum and a clean design for you!

...Hmm, I thought she was growling a bit more than the usual Bristol Centaurus...:ichile:
BTW does anyone know what no. 33 (from Reno 2008) is? She looks a bit like a Tempest II,
with no Sea Fury rise in the center fuselage...:engel016:

...yeah, Argonaught is in the process of swapping the Wright 3350 for P&W 2800...
Now Dreadnaught is sporting a 4360 (P&W 4000 hp ish) They say at Reno if you want to win you must get past her! ...These hot rod Sea Furies...:isadizzy::icon_eek::applause:

That'd be one of these Corncob things:-

which is a four-row 28-cylinder radial. Rather eclipses the two-row 18-cylinder Centaurus, but I'd rather not change the plugs on either....

...Why yes, 'tis the very monster of which I spake...
56 plugs? ...happy carpal tunneling:isadizzy:

Yea this is a great fly by.. :applause:

That bird is almost as fast as a Hobbit in heat..:icon_eek:

OOPPPS, I meant, almost as fast as a pretty Purple Hobbit special..
