Hello,

For OFF P3 I do not have a smooth running of the image, it is at times choppy. I tried several settings without success.
The technical characteristics of equipment are as follows:
- Configuration: Dell/Dimension8400/Intel-Pentium 3.40 Ghz /
1022 MB ram/directX9.0c/Radeon X850XT platinum edition with Catalyst Control Center
- Operating system: Windows XP

Thank you in advance for your help :help:

Short of reducing the graphics settings for the game that's probably the best you're going to get with a D8400 vintage system in my opinion.

I have a Dell D8300 and a XPS Gen 3 which were no longer capable of running post-2007 games with any degree of satifactory performance and as such opted for my current custom build that can. The advantage of a custom build vs most large vendor offerings is upgradeability of everything right down to the case.

This is the link for your system specs. While it is PCIe (for your video card) you're strapped with a 350W power supply which limits your video card upgrade choice. Again, having been down this road with my Gen 3 with a 460W power supply the best card that would run in it was the Nvidia 7900 GTX - but as I noted it struggled with virtualy every post-2007 graphics intense games. And the 7900 GTX is a much better card than the X850xt...

I complete : CFS3 works properly (continuously) and that OFFP3 does not works continuously !

I had an 8400 3.4Ghtz with a Nvidia 6600GT . . it's a fine computer, but in the video department with the AGP video system, it leaves alot to be desired. It runs CFS3 smoothly because that game is from that point in time. It's time is sadly long gone.

The sheer amount of mathematical computations needed reaches a bottleneck in the video system, there are some overide settings for ATI cards that should iron things out, but that was for Phase 1, and to be perfecty honest, I wouldn't know where to start looking.

I'd suggest you PM Cameljockey . . He might have the needed info :ernae:

Hello,
Thank you for your help

OFF sliders are MUCH more than CFS3 sliders Jacques.

3 in OFF = 5 at least in CF3, plus the high resolution textures, details, objects are much better and more!

So you cannot compare ;)

Set sliders 1 lower on terrain and scenery, and clouds if possible and try again. Check the FAQ for tips.

Hello,
I'm sorry the first, but I see on the advanced settings, the following:
- CFS3: all settings are 2 and the operation of the game is fluid.
- OFF P3: all settings are 1 and the operation of the game is not fluid, it is impossible to play in combat.
I continue to look for what reason,
Thank you for your attention.

If you haven't done so already, go into workshops...then into the configuration tool and set your CFS3 cfg up as shown below. Follow all directions carefully.

I can tell you right now, your system will struggle with Phase III regardless of your settings due to your hardware itself and the enhanced graphics detail incorporated into BHaH. Having said that, if it's mostly "stuttering" that is causing your problems, these settings should help alleviate that condition.

"In the overrides section clear the tick in the 'Dual Pass Render' box and tick the 'High Resolution Z-buffer' box immediately below it. Also tick the following:

Disable Write-Only Vertex Buffers
Disable Write-Only Index Buffers
Disable Terrain Texture Ring Blend (possibly/test)
Disable Vertex Buffers
Disable Index Buffers

To disable messages such as whether you've hit your enemy and warnings such as 'Stall' tick the boxes for Disable Chat, Disable Advisor Messages and Disable Simulation Warnings.

Now click on 'Window' at the top of the page again and this time click on 'Texture Info' and set the following:

Composite Terrain Texture Pool - set to Managed
Composite Terrain Texture Usage - set to Rendertarget
Composite Aircraft Texture Pool - set to Managed
Composite Aircraft Texture Usage - set to Rendertarget
Vertex Buffer Pool - set to Managed
Index Buffer Pool - leave as is - should be set to Default
Fullscreen Swap Effect - set to Flip
Now click on the 'Save' button at the bottom of the screen.
Next click on 'File' and choose 'Exit' - do not use the X close button as this will lose the settings you have just made.

Hello,
I was a test,
the last, before you despair of OFF P3, was as follows:

FAQ OFF P3 / ATI USERS, please note:
CFS3 has traditionally not ran as well on ATI cards. Many people have found settings that have helped here are some suggestions from posters on our forum and others:
From within your \OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\ folder (that's the default install folder anyway) open the 'Default' folder and then open the file 'cfs3.xml'. You may need to use notepad (if you save double check it does not save it as "cfs3.xml.txt" make sure it is "cfs3.xml" only) . Look for MaxFPS="0" and change the value from '0' to something like '25' or '30'. This will help to smooth out the stutters too." You can always try increase this figure later (conservatively /gradually :) ) if your system now works well.

The solution to my problem was there. Finally !!!
Thank you all for your attention :ernae:
