Seasprite

Hello,

I am thinking about getting Alphasim's Kaman SH-2F/G "Seasprite" mainly for FS2004 usage (although it may see time in FSX).

I am wondering what people here think of it. :wavey:

Pros, cons, general statements, etc?

I saw a video highlighting a rather large (in my opinion) graphical bug with the model that causes the rotor disk to do flips on startup....does that still exist?
I'm also curious as to any other bugs that are present in the model before I make my decision.

Thanks,

Well...

I'm not a helo expert, but I like the Seasprite a lot as compared to my other AS helos. It's one of my favorites along with the Dauphin.

Good exterior modeling with lots of paints available. Good VC with minimal FPS impact on my old machine. Good animations such as doors, winch, gear, and pilots. Sounds seem realistic including startup and shutdown. Flight dynamics are as expected.

Only issue I've noted is the ability to extend the winch hoist through the closed door. Haven't noticed any issues with the rotors but hey, it's only a sim.

I am like Warhorse and not noticed anything amiss with this AS release, I got it with in 48 hrs of it's release and flew the heck out of it. It still gets flight time but not as much as it probably should. There are some good repaints for it, the best ones in a package that was released to AVSIM. In particular is the HC-7 textures, not your typical 1960's era gloss sea blue paint job, but engine grey and small/subdued markings. HC-7 wrote the book on Navy C/SAR in the 60's, but I digress.

The helo looks good, flies well and has no surprises. The complaint that I remember on the old AS forums was no 2d pit, but that is no big deal these days. Buy it you won't be sorry.
