Hey everyone!

I am DauntlessDriver546... been with the outhouse for almost a year now. I put FS-2002 back on the computer last night... I wanted to get away from all the action in the Pacific from Combat Flight Sim 2 for a while.

The Section F8 Sabre, beautiful as she is, doesn't seem to work in FS-2002. You all are the pros... what is the BEST alternative F-86 for FS-2002?

Thanks!

You might try Kirk Ollson's F-86. It's more conventional in terms of gauges and systems. I can't see why it wouldn't work, though I've never tried it in FS2K.

Kirk Olssons F-86 converts well for FS2002 - the models, FD, sounds, textures all convert nearly flawlessly. The gauges do not convert, sadly. However, there is a new panel for it by [SIZE=-1]Jean-Pierre Langer at flightsim.com (f86pnl6.zip) that works splendidly in FS2002, and, IMHO, improves the VC too...
You might also try the Dogpatch? Sabre that is available here at SOH - once again, FS9, so it will need conversion, but not bad.

I highly recommend that panel upgrade for Kirk's Sabre. I've been using it for a long time, didn't realize it used different gauges.

Just a suggestion but FS2004 can be obtained quite cheaply now. The upgrade difference in scenery alone is unbelievable from one sim to the other.
I'd hate to see you miss out on having the new F86 due to using FS2002.
Is it possible for you to consider upgrading the sim instead of downgrading the aircraft?

My suggestion as well.

You are spot right on the money that is an Amazing model...

And I am not even your typical Kerosene Burner and I love it.

God bless Rey Lopez, AKA UAFORLO at Flightsim, He was a friend of mine and I miss him every day! Mike :kilroy:

"The late"?
Sorry if this may sound a little unappropriate - but does this mean he's dead?

The reason for asking is that I'm currently digging for an AI suitable F-104 model for a scenery project. In his readme Rey reserves a quite strict repaint policy, so it would be rather hard to ask for permission...

Any sensible idea how to handle this issue?

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Markus.

Edit: Sorry, Mike! Just have read your confirmation.
Note to myself: Read the whole topic before posting!
