SectionF8 F-86F Sabre and Active Camera?

Here is a query for those in the know.

Is it possible to retain Active Camera functionality while flying the F-86F?

Like Skyhawk, I find that loading the 2D cockpit of the Sabre cancels out Active Camera. (If one starts in another view, then Active Camera works well...until one switches to the 2D cockpit. Apparently, the 2D activates a gauge that conflicts with Active Camera. But this is only a WAG.)

Do we have the ability to keep Active Camera working? (Possibly, we might be willing to eliminate a gauge if that gauge is not absolutely necessary for the F-86. Some of us are, er, addicted to Active Camera...)

Best,
Mike

I can live with it if not...

I think that re-loading the plane and staying out of the panel view will do the trick...

Until they have a fix or as a confirmation test put the view skipper gauge in your panel to skip the 2D panel. See if the problem happens when you enter the VC.

As with the Eaglesoft Twin Comanche, I put // before each 'zorder' entry in the panel.cfg file (e.g. so it reads as: //zorder=0) - there are several of these to do. This does now enable panning around with Active Camera in the vc but I don't know if it has any negative effects otherwise. Perhaps someone knows?

For what it's worth, I did confirm that it's the 2D panel (if I don't get in it, active camera works fine).

I know the gauge is part of the Wozza-stang package. However, I don't know if it's available separately.

Yes you can find it in the Stang and in Gnoopey's P-47

Look in the aircraft config for

gauge00=dsd_view_skip!no_2d, 80, 40 ,5,5

I don't think the corrordinates really matter you can not see the gauge.

Thanks to Frog for a solution.

Commenting out the "zorder=xx" statements does enable Active Camera. Have not yet discovered the cost of doing so.

Thanks much, Frog.
