SectionF8 Sabre Textues

Hi Good People
Just a heads up on a bucket of FREE textures that are available for the excellent SectionF8 F86 Sabre from the team at:
http://www.sectionf8.com

I have created 25 liveries (so far) for this outstanding aircraft which is way up there with the best of Freeware products - so if you have not got her yet you need to check her out - the aircraft is available at Simviation and AVSIM. Also a couple of the textures below have been released by me as well via Simviation (see FS2004 Military) and AVSIM

Below is a list of thumbnails of the liveries I have created for her so far. For those that do not know me, I have a lean towards the "Fancy" and or "Fantasy" types of liveries to make aircraft visually pleasing and I have done several in this mode - plus there are some serious renditions of historical aircraft.

All of these liveries are available for FREE from my site:
http://www.gjsmith.net

Still fighting a very sick machine - virtually all of the above have been done in SAFE mode (network support) and forced to use DXTBMP.exe and PSP version 5. Have to repaint - send the textures next door via e-mail - load them into the sim - test - send back for error correction - cycle till fixed - then screenshot on the neighbours machine - then back to me for release via FTP tinkering. Bugger of a way to work but cannot resist tinkering - at least till this machine goes completely legs up :wiggle:
Very tolerant neighbour :ernae:
Hopefully they will enrich your flying experience with the SectionF8 F86 Sabre
Happy Simming to all and a happy new year.

Thank You Garry. Im enjoying the heck outa the Sabres you paint.:ernae::ernae::ernae:

As usual- Outstanding stuff Gary! The Golden Hawks are classic. :friday:

Thanks Gary!!!

I especially like the "Black Knight"... some really nice effects working in that paint scheme.:icon29:

Glad that you are all enjoying them - that is the intention - add a little bit of flare and creativity to the Sabre and also highlight some of the "unique" liveries used throughout the world during the Sabre's service period.

Blackbird686 - wish I had seen your avatar earlier - that would have been an excellent bit of art for the Black livery (possible the tail art) - with the reflective chrome effect used for that girl it would have come out pretty good.:wiggle:

Hi Garry!
Very fine your site. Can you make some liveries for the Italian Air Force (A.M.I.)?
Happy new year!

Alternative Tail Art for Black Livery

Hi again simmers,

Could not resist creating an alternative tail for the Black livery - now replacement texture is available on the F86 SectionF8 Page on my site.

Black-alternative-tail.jpg

You will need to download and install the Black livery - and then download this "alternative tail" file and use the fuse_1_t.bmp in the zip to replace the fuse_1_t.bmp in the texture.Black Directory. And away you go.......

Happy simming.

Italy Repaint

For the simmer that requested an Italian livery - this is one I am working on at the moment - still some minor tinkers to go but neighbour is away today so cannot finish it off just yet - but close.......

Regards and happy simming

Garry,
that Frecce Tricolori Paint looks well but I have one question about it havent the real ones the tricolored stripes of the wings on wing underside in your picture they are on the top side

but I must say haven't seen much pictures of their earlier paintschemes

Hi Tom - thanks for the feedback mate - I have only a side on picture of her - could see the underwings were tricolour - so guessed the upper wings would be the same.

Easily fixed (just have to drop a layer) - however, are the upperwings the same colour as the fuselage (blue) or are they just metal grey......

Regards

hello Garry,
upper wings should be the same blue like the fuselange the roundels should remain on it
great job on that paint so far !

found that pictures of a plastic kit

Great stuff, my fave is the 76 Sqn 50 year commemorative repaint!

Thanks for contributing so much to the FS community over the years!:medals:

Hi Garry,

many thanks for the Italian livery I requested! I confirm that the wings (and the tailplane) upperside are in the same dark blue as the fuselage. The F-86 was the mount of the 313° Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico (Frecce Tricolori-PAN), based at Rivolto AB, in the 1961-1963 years; from 1963 it was superseded by the Fiat G-91.

Regards,

Corrado

Italian Livery

Hi Simmers,

OK - have fixed the Italian livery - now blue upper surface with the tri-colour wings and elevators underneath.

Also changed the tanks from blue to red - to better match the latest images provided.

Can't get FrontPage to run (again) so it will be a couple of days before I can post her to my site - still fighting a sick machine :wiggle:

Garry,
Looking awesome now !
but if possible ? please remove roundel from bottom wings because I think the original only have it on the topside of the wings

OK - will remove the underwing roundels - not a problem - but will be a day or two - need to run another CHKSDK - getting resets every few minutes at the moment - so have to crash and dash the system and reinstall some software again......

Couple of new textures ready

Hi Simmers,
Through the grace of my neighbour (very tolerant lady) I have been able to get to my web site and add two more liveries for your flying pleasure.

A fantasy SectionF8 livery - a sort of mascot experiment :wiggle:
SectionF8-3.jpg

You will find the livery in the Camo group at the bottom of the F86 SectionF8 Page

And an Italian Air Force Aeobatic Team Livery
Italy-1.jpg

So pop on over to http://www.gjsmith.net and download to your hearts content - hope you enjoy them.
