    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

We still get them as visitors to Love Field; and it is so nice to hear and see four-prop, smoke spewing beauties like these.

One time I was eating lunch in the parking lot; and one was sitting on the test pad doing engine runups and other things; a fairly routine sight. After it had sat there awhile there was a loud noise; I turned to see what looked like an EC-135 buzzing down the runway centerline gear up just a few feet off the ground. It flew away, and the Orion taxied back to the hanger to refuel; it must have been a planned meet of some kind.

Squint your eyes just a little, and they remind me not just of the Electra, but of any of the classic propliners of the 1950s.
